NIWM:

ok so everything worked the first time after i read this thread.

Then when i went back to the main page? & tried new posts & latest posts?

right back to the same thing. could only see the stuff on page 1 of either area. no other pages would open.

About every third or fourth time I come onto the site...it will not let me write anything in a post. Won’t even display the keyboard. Seems random as well...

NIWM & Mr. K::::

ok now i got better info for you.

so the first time i go to new posts... it will work fine & can go to other pages.

however IF you click on a thread, make a post & then go BACK to new posts? it wont let you go to other pages. same for latest & whats new area's.

getting this on chrome w/Ubuntu & on Windows 10... also on Brave /android.

sdk1968, when it does this, check and see if you are still logged in. I find the site works differently when I forget to make that I am logged in when I first come on the forum where my phone won’t stay logged in.

I find that using the new posts tab along the top of the forum listing only allows me to see one page of new posts. If I use the drop down menu next to the Orange Tractor Talks logo to get new posts I can go through several pages of new posts.

I’m glad I am not the only one with the problem.

Of course you know this but there may be some that do not realize that if you try to return to a "new" post that you have already viewed, it won't be there as such because it's not "new" anymore.

The absolute only thing that I dislike about the upgrade is that the "Mark read" verification box has not been eliminated.

That irritating pop-up box seems to be a "feature" of all the forums which have been "upgraded" during past several months. Apparently the idiot who designed the software thought it was a good idea. I doubt there is much that the websites can do about it except to complain to the hosting server.

Not sure what box you are seeing, but only time I see that box is if I click on mark forums read. I don't mind it because I don't clean up my list of unread posts very often, and given that on my touch screen tablet it is pretty easy to touch things I don't want while scrolling, I appreciate that all the new posts won't disappear by accident. o_O

Sheep, everyone does not have a touch screen. Some of us still scroll.

I am active on other forums and none of them display an irritating "verification" box. No other action on this forum requires a verification. Click on a button and it does what the box says.

I have repeatly said that I love this updated forum and I appreciate what Mr. K (and others) did. He asked for suggestions and I made one. He also said that it was on his list of things to check on. I just hope that the verification box disappears.

I was one of the guys complaining about not having Tapatalk.

I haven’t missed Tapatalk in a long while, and finally did Fordtech’s great instructions today to make the print bigger on my phone.

Makes it even easier to get around, post pictures, etc. Here’s what it looks like on an iPhone 11:

Has something been changed relating to the search function with the new software upgrade? Like a limit to how far back it will search? I am having a devil of a time searching for old threads that I have posted in the past. Probably 95+% of the time I get "No Results Found". I seem to be able to find newer postings, say the last 200, but not older than that.
If I pull up my own posted content, I can manually look through until I find what I am looking for, but with nearly 5000 posts, that gets pretty time consuming & tedious.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or my age-addled brain just can't remember the correct search terms.
Help!

I had the same problem the other day. I knew the thread was there, tried several searches for terms I knew I used, together with my username without success. I finally resorted to doing the same search with google and Bingo! there it was. There is definitely something flaky with the search function.

Hey Lil Foot - could you please private message me some of the searches you are attempting along with how many results you get back when you try? That will help me debug from my end here.
