    Kubota Z1211

I have a Z1211 ZTR mower and wanted to point out a couple of things to be aware of if you have this model. First, the lower radiator hose is very close to the oil filter. At 38 hours my hose was chafing on the filter. To stop that from happening, I loosened the lower hose clamp located by the...

    Utility trailers

Hauling more than rated capacity has some risk. Here in Georgia, you can be weighed and put Out of service if you excede the GVWR. Then there is a fine. Also, exceeding capacity not only can damage your axles, but you can also brake the trailer tongue while loaded, depending on how your...

5 amp ECM fuse keeps popping

Look for a wiring harness around the treadle linkage. On Non treadle models, the brake and clutch linkages have been prone to chafing and blowing that fuse. If you remove the fuse and use a meter to go from the fuse block where the fuse was to ground and move the treadle, you should see the ohm...

    Milky oil in gearbox.

It is more than likely condensation. Not sure if your mower has a filter on it or not but that’s typically how it gets in. Some use a desiccant filter on the vent but if not, the condensation can get in through the vent. I have a Wood PRD8400 and have no condensation problem but it also...

    New Muffler

Had to get a new muffler for my M7040 due to a pecan tree incident. Limb snapped as I was going under it. Limb caught the exhaust stack which pushed the stack back, bending the muffler elbow. Of course, everything has to be ordered now at the dealership. I checked with several stores to...

"Burnishing" your new brakes. WTF......... Now I've heard it all. (I'm raising the Bullsh!t flag)

I would have adjusted mine, if I could. For the low clearance tilt trailers with the 8K and 9k axles, the way the axles are mounted doesn’t allow any room to get in there and adjust. I tried and I probably could have finally figured out something but the heat index was 110 so I let the...

"Burnishing" your new brakes. WTF......... Now I've heard it all. (I'm raising the Bullsh!t flag)

My tilt Trailer has Dexter axles with automatic adjusters. The first hundred miles of break-in finally saw the trailer brakes working, but not as effective as they should be. I followed Dexter´s process and now I have great brakes. The trailer is an 18,000 GVWR so brakes have to work. With a...

    Trailer Safety Video

I just bought a new trailer that has a very odd loading protocol. I loaded 12,000 lbs of oak logs and when I got to 45 mph, the trailer started to fishtail. I took the axles to be centered for loading. I went back and we we shifted the logs forward to give me more tongue weight. Both ways, the...

    Leave engine running?

Now that it’s getting cold, you really don’t want to leave it idling. You can get fuel wash down in the cylinders as the engine cools down. Even warming the engine up in cold weather should not be done at idle. Get the rpm’s up to warm it up.

    Need advice from lumberjacks/lumberjills

I would say it would would fall to the east or south without help. A tractor will help guide it but I have seen trees that size drag a tractor and fall away from the direction of pull. Look on Youtube for videos of falling a tree using a hydraulic jack. That will give you a good idea of how to...

L series plug and play aux lighting

I bought a pair of LED work lights about 4 x 6 inches and mounted them on top of the turn signal lamps (there’s a hole on top of My 7040 light brackets) and then used crimp bullet connectors to connect to the factory harness. The switch is on the lights so I can use one or both.

[BX23S] How do you like that seat angle??

I had the same problem on my M7040. I shimmed the front seat where it bolts to the tractor and solved the problem. It tilted the seat bottom up in front and I no longer feel like I’m going to slide off.

    Apparent Fuel Issue

By fuel filter, are you talking about the spin on filter or the water separator with the glass bowl? You probably have a clogged line in the system. You should probably change the filter (spin on) if you haven’t already done that. If the filter is new, you have to start looking for an...

    M7060 Error 25

The 7060 wiring diagram I just looked at showed the T/M circuit going from the fuse the the Neutral Safety Switch. From the T7M Safety Switch it goes to pin 3 of the PTO Safety Relay. If the T/M Neutral Safety Switch is shorting internally, it will blow the fuse. I would check the connector...

Wood chipper. Hydraulic feed. Manny, What hydraulic line is feeding the chipper?
