B7800 Wix or Fram filter numbers for oil and hydraulic filters.

I realize that millions of people have used Frams for many years. I used them for several years on my first cars. Then I went to work for a repair shop that also ran tractor trailers throughout the east coat. We did our own work on the trucks and had the auto repair shop work as well. My boss...

    New decking on my trailer

Not sure if you are going to seal your deck, but I found a sealer that really penetrates the wood, is not paraffin based (Thompson‘s Water Seal and others) so it doesn’t peel and really lasts. It’s called Ready Seal and has lasted on all the fences and decks including my trailer that I’ve used...

    Leveling rear blade

Are your lift links right and left attached to the same holes in the lift arms. There are two holes on the arms. Make sure you are either in the forward two holes or the rear two holes.

    Leveling rear blade

I said that because the op said that in his original post. I should have said “If there is no adjustment”. Glad you have tilt.

Sorry I didn’t say more than “Don’t put a Fram on that tractor.” I have a Ram with the Cummins diesel. The first one I bought was in 1998. Several owners (based on online forums) had problems with Frams coming apart due to high start up oil pressure. It seems as though Fram doesn’t make an...

    Leveling rear blade

Something I would recommend before leveling your lift arms is to try to find a hill steep enough that you can lower your blade and it not touch the ground. We had a problem on another 7040 last year where one arm was about 3 inches higher than the other when lowered. The tractor had been...

Kubota SVL75 Skid Steer IS Blowing White Smoke

If the smoke has a strong diesel smell, it’s probably unburned fuel. That can be due to low compression, low cylinder temps, and injectors that are not spraying correctly (dirty, sticking, dripping).

Question(s) about tending a brush pile fire with the tractor.

it did look like that. Except with less paint.

Question(s) about tending a brush pile fire with the tractor.

Saw this post a couple of days ago and thought about it outside Waycross, Georgia yesterday. Picture a smoking brush pile with what appeared to be a John Deere burned up with the bucket about 10 feet from the pile. If you’ve traveled south out of Waycross you will have seen the thousands of...

Cold starts: what is your preferred RPM setting??

I crank and go to 1000 for a couple of minutes, then increase to 1400 for another three. On really cold days, I will put the tractor in first gear (low) and idle out of the barn for a couple of minutes more and then go to work. my main concern is warming up the hydraulic oil.

    Loader cylinder seals

I have rebuilt cylinders before but now I take them to a local machine shop. They do a full rebuild and rest for $75. Usually back in two days. I have also used a local hydraulic shop and they did my 5 inch Prince cylinder for $125. They had all the parts on hand. Otherwise I had to order...

    Stupid question of the day...

I worked for Standard Transpipe for several years. we stored Gas, Diesel, and Jet. The fuel was blended before we ever received it. We never knew the ratio of #1 to #2. I had to sample the tanks daily when I gauged them. Sometimes it would be zero outside. Sometimes the fuel would not react...

    Stupid question of the day...

For the fuel, winter blend is used as temperatures are projected to be at -7 degrees. Diesel can actually begin to gel well before that. Here in Georgia, we start getting winter fuel in December when our temps start regularly dropping to the 20’s. I know when we get it because my truck...

B7800 Wix or Fram filter numbers for oil and hydraulic filters.

Don’t put a Fram filter on that tractor, oil or hydraulic. Wix are good filters. You can do a lookup at the following link or just go to Wix.com, select Off Road Vehicles, Tractor, Kubota and your model. https://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/Applications.aspx?Section=4

    Straps or Chains for trailering?

I usually wrap the binder with the excess chain. They will open up for sure sometimes if not secured. I’m trying out the ratchet type now. I like them but they are a PITA so far.
