Got to spot, sure enough, sliced all up......................an old tire. Talk about being relieved.

I was sure I had joined the fawn killer club, but was so happy that it was just an old tire.
Thankfully, it was quick, no suffering involved. 😭

It's been a busy 3 rainy / cold days for me. Today I cleaned up the hoses on my new Fitrite TNT and replaced 2 couplers.

Just a note on Brian at Fitrite. I admit I don't know much about hydraulics but Brian's handholding and education were worth the price of admission.
and Brian's 3 valve set.
not a small undertaking, that really turned out awesome!

About a month ago I started on this stump at my neighbors place. It was a three headed monster. I got the third head off that day, but waited on some rain to pull the other two. The past few days we got rain, about three inches worth, so today was the day to finish off the twins that were left.

A pic of the twins once removed:

I dug deep on two sides and was able to break the stump free. It was way too big for either my tractor, a B2601, or my neighbors, a B3300SU, to pull out. So we double teamed it.

I pulled it over while he filled in opposite. Did that back and forth three times and the stump was up high enough for me to get it up on solid ground.

Here's a pic of my neighbor trying to move it away from the hole.

About three hours total to remove all three oak stumps, whith this double taking the longest.

Didn't do any work with the tractor, but did a lot of work on the shed. I did get in some very important seat time today, though. Only about 10 minutes, but just as important as anything else I've done with the tractor.

Cleaned up the rust and painted the bucket hooks... No comments (unless suggestions on how to be better) on the welding. It was my FIRST welding job in my life and although not pretty, it is effective (see stump photos).

Hydraulic oil and filter change .
Was messing around with the fluid level
recently and being a newb added a little too much so pulled the plug to drain some out and it turned black after a qt or so. Tractor came with no history and in need of some TLC so figured it probably hadn't been serviced in years. 1100 hrs on it.
It had been changed at least once before judging by the no name filter.
It took 9 1/2 gallons. A little pricey but good insurance .

How did you come to this conclusion? "Tractor came with no history and in need of some TLC so figured it probably hadn't been serviced in years. 1100 hrs on it."

Here is the finished product. The paint is not a perfect match, nor did I think it would be, but close enough given 10 or more years of fading. I used the Krylon "New Kubota Orange". Not sure if my original paint was the 'old' or 'new'.

Help me understand why the two middle hooks look like they’re backwards.

Unfortunately I cannot. For some reason, at the time I thought I would curl/lift against the back of the bucket as to not damage the blade edge of the front--being the back is a flat solid piece of steel. Now I just use them to weave/hang the chain across the top of the bucket.

I was also so excited the first two stuck to the bucket (first time welding ever) I just kept going..... Had 8 of them and I'm surprised I didn't weld them all on.

Very well, I just thought you knew something about grab hooks that I didn't. :sneaky: But, I get it, I burned up nearly a half roll of wire the first time I played with my wire welder. Welding is an addictive hobby. Nearly as much so as tractorin'.

Installed a garden today! This ground was so compacted and hard it was bending metal stakes as they were hammered in. A few passes with the box blade rippers, tiller, and some compost, made short work of it.

It is amazing how much work and time saving a box blade creates. One can do so little (with it) that would take big time without the equipment. worth every penny.

Gave my BX 2360 A bath to wash off the oil mess after I removed the rockshaft cover to seal a leak i inherited. Wasn't a bad job just worried what all was behind that cover.

Mowed the lawn today, was in a hurry so I left the loader on for the first time while mowing. Wasn’t too difficult to get around the small trees out back.
