I think my one with the knob is shown on your last picture.
Do you mean the decomp knob?
Mine is a smaller knob (3/4"?) that operates a cable to the decomp mechanism, (think old lawnmower throttle cable) like the one below, except no writing, and black.
Without the tractor here, can't help with the springs.

@lilfoot I was going over all the answers again and spotted my unsolved lever in your photos.Any idea what this lever connects to under the step?
Without the tractor here I can't be sure, but I think that connects to the foot throttle.

johngwalsh-
Do you have the parts manual for the whole tractor?
If not, PM me your e-mail & I will try to send it to you.
It has a section on "Throttle Group" & "Fuel tank Group" that might help.

@johngwalsh
i will be around my L185F tomorrow and will take pictures of the throttle linkages and post them. My tractor is pretty close to what the above pictures show.

You probably did have a foot throttle pedal at one time since I think one of those springs was on it. The helical spring with one long end and one short end returned the foot pedal to idle.

@Lil Foot modified his parking brake lever with the vertical rod to pull it up with (orange knob). Mine has a different type of parking brake.

I will try to get pictures of all the different rods in place but there are really very few on the whole tractor. Most rods are in the throttle, brakes and clutch systems.

The two springs that look something like a valve spring may be the seat suspension if your tractor has that. The others are return springs for pedals or throttle or such. I will have to get some pictures of them for you.

The kill lever on my tractor. Notice it is being pushed down by the rod on the right. Also the foot pedal rod is shown along with the spring that returns the tractor to idle.

The lever being pointed to will kill the engine when pulled up. I had never paid attention to this but the lever is simply pushed down by the hand throttle or pulled down by the foot throttle. There is a pivot point that I could not get a picture of just to the right

Thanks very much for the photos Russell This clears up quite a bit for me. I can see from your photos I'll have to make a little accelerator pedal and modify my step to carry this. I'm missing a lever at the end of this pedal that takes the vertical bar. I'll also have to weld on a bracket to the step to carry the springs for the brakes .

My decompression arrangement is different to yours ,no cable just a steel bar. I definitely didn't have a sprung seat so those 2 springs are still a mystery .
I went through the parts manual 4 times trying to see where the small bracket I just remade fitted and couldn't see it. ...but I'm almost certain I have seen it in the past while looking for some other part.
But I have plenty to get working on now . Between the parts manual and and all the photos posted my jigsaw has a box to work off . Thanks for all the help guys.👏
