Whereas I work with electrical things, I am therefore a disciple of Reddy Kilowatt. :p
Boy, that's a blast from the past!! We used ol' Reddy for some of our displays back in the early '70s and not sure how old he (or she?) was at that time. LOL! Just looked it up....he first appeared in 1926 it looks like. :ROFLMAO:

" The Kalamazoo River oil spill occurred in July 2010 when a pipeline operated by Enbridge burst and flowed into Talmadge Creek, a tributary of the Kalamazoo River. A 6-foot break in the pipeline resulted in one of the largest inland oil spills in U.S. history." Wikipedia

An oil spill in the cold water of the Great Lakes would be an environmental disaster. Enbridge would have to escrow a huge amount of money before I would trust them messing around under the Great Lakes.

Read an article this morning where the current administration is looking to shut down another major oil pipeline in to the US to “Help curb our appetite “ for cheap energy. Just as winter starts. Probably will be Trumps fault when people cannot afford to heat their homes or drive to town for food and Dr appointments.
From former US Senator from DE said" That's Bone Head Idea!" For once I kinda agree.;)

I don't know what it's like where you live but around here none of the gas stations with diesel pumps have fuel. The only places that do are big truck stops.

Folks with those electric vehicles must think they charge on air! Government has the “green energy” society very fooled
Just power your house from your EV and plug the EV in to charge while you do it!

If you think diesel is costly, hope you got a contract for propane requirements this winter!!

We never were offered the "summer fill" this summer, but got a contract for $1.72. Now price is a bit over $2.50, and we all know which direction it's going.

For amusement, only not so much, Enbridge is adding to its reputation around here.

There is a remarkable lack of competence on all fronts these days, not just government.

It would not surprise me to see propane at a high of $4.00+ this Winter

Premium, 91 octane, was $4.10 today at a local station. Granted it was without Ethanol, but it's been a long time since it was in the $4s. Thanks to those who are responsible. I know most of us appreciate it. ;)

“The height of the pandemic really set us up for pain at the pump,” says De Haan. A drop in worldwide demand caused US oil prices to plunge to historically low levels last year, which in turned prompted companies to cut production.

The oil market rallied on news of successful covid-19 vaccine trials in the last months of 2020 and demand came roaring back this year as countries began lifting lockdown restrictions. But production hasn’t caught up as quickly as demand, which is why Americans are paying $3.42 on average for gas today compared to $2.11 last year.

Energy traders with an interest in keeping prices high may also play a role in driving up the cost of gas. Options trading in the crude oil market surged last month as investors bet on the US oil benchmark surpassing $100 a barrel.

Prices in Michigan dropped 3 cents last week, have been around $3.40/ gal for diesel. Seems like the wild differences from state to state must depend on local taxes etc.

Nope, or at least not all of them . Republican state legislature has blocked attempts to raise money via gas taxes, not sure where it actually is. Some bridges are being fixed, since there were many detours this summer.
