Ever try to buy a snowblower during a blizzard?
Not a snowblower but we bought a pickup sander in the middle of a severe ice storm once.

I'll stick with my back blade for now. Been working good so far. As screwed up as the weather service folks guessing whats coming, I'll bet we will get the norm from past few years, which isn't much.

Let me guess: you had to pay full price? <lol>
We paid the same price that we would have paid in June for it. At that time we were averaging $250,00-300,000+per year in purchases from that dealer, because they were for John Deere, New Holland, De Laval milking equipment and many other short line ag equipment.

OP, if you have a wide enough driveway and shallow wider ditching? Blade works just fine unless you routinely get dumped on.

Last couple winters low amount of snowfall here on the south shore of the western end of L. Superior.

Winter of "23-24 I left the blower on the pallet. Blade and bucket worked fine. Snowbanks never really built up to a point where blading snow into the ditches was an issue. Don't remember one heavy Lake Effect snowfall. Well casing top is 18" above grade. It never stayed fully under snow cover that winter. Too many "January thaws" every month of the winter. IIRC, max snowpack was only couple feet. Hard as rock snowpack.

Last winter I thought maybe the same. Just took one moderate dump to make using the blade a bit useless. Needed to cut the banks down using the blower or be limited to a very narrow driveway. That would guarantee a +30" lake effect dump.

This winter. Attach the snowblower in November to ensure no snowfall until mid December. Remove mid-December to ensure a White Christmas.
