Are there any newer under 40 HP Kubotas to avoid? I don't keep up on any of the models out there.
If you know of years and models to avoid, I would like to know. I would be buying 2012 models or newer.
Thanks, Roger

As stated above, the B3350 has been problematic.

It is also the only tractor available from anyone with a transferrable, lifetime "emissions" warranty.

I would avoid the BX series like the plague as they are woefully underpowered.

I'm pretty sure you can get a turbo kit for the BX2680. That might just give it almost enough power.

In summary, they're generally all good. The one exception is the B3150, especially if you're in a cold climate. Hence the lack of useful engagement on the thread - there's not much to say.

However, if you indicated what tasks you might be doing and what you want to spend, we could probably recommend which models might be best.

Given you say under 40hp, that means probably you're looking L, the older big B (so actually B3150), or LX (which is probably too new for you). Rule of thumb is L2501 if you don't like emissions controls, a bigger L otherwise. And if you like a bit more luxury, the grand L is excellent, albeit more expensive. If you can stretch to an MX that's even better, but they're probably a bit pricy and they're outside the 40hp cap.

The big B (B2650) or LX (LX2610) is a great machine, but unless you need the mid-PTO, the cab, or are weight limited you're probably better with the L2501.

The good ones and bad ones depend a lot on the owners.

If you buy one that's gone through the wringer you are likely to experience problems down the line. Take a good look at the guy's property and the condition of his other equipment, tools, house, garage, and vehicles.

I am going to disagree with you 100 % - those that run around on M1 Abrams tanks also think a rocket launchers is underpowered!!! I will take my BX into places a M or L will never fit! WILL it pick up 2000 lbs? NOPE - but it will move 600 lbs around at a time quicker than the M or L series.

AS Clint Eastwood said " a man has got to know his limitations" - and that is true with machines too!

Agree 110%. I don't think Kubota ever made a "lemon" B or BX either. They are tough little machines.

I guess I should have worded it better to say any pre-emissions B or BX series. Two things I would never consider are a computer controlled diesel engine or emissions nonsense. Both will ruin the best designed engines at some point....
