I guess I should have worded it better to say any pre-emissions B or BX series. Two things I would never consider are a computer controlled diesel engine or emissions nonsense. Both will ruin the best designed engines at some point....

Then you would NEVER NEED/WANT/or CONSIDER a modern tractor over 26 HP.
May work for you, but SOME folks do NEED to buy new replacement equipment.

Yup. Post 2012 and over 26 Hp a fellow just needs to find a pre late 2012, low hour, good condition used replacement to avoid shenanigans. And they cost about 1/2 to 3/4 the price of an equivalent new one, so it won’t be cheap. My old L would sell for about what I paid for it 16 years ago (other that the value of that current dollar is about 2/3 what it was then).

For those of us who with play tractors,...... looking for a pre 2012 tractor is an acceptable solution.
For those with a business, needing a new larger than 26HP tractor, there are no options.

Yea, I play with mine. The dot gov thinks I try to make money with them. But it’s all part of the monopoly game. But I’m that same guy that buys a 2013 pickup for his new farm truck because he can’t stand the current offerings.

The farmers buy them under the Section 179 election, so that helps a little with the upfront pain as does expensing the repairs on things that should work that don’t.

GR21xx series

I did far more GR series mower transmission repairs than I did B3350 stuff. Only 2 (IIRC) B3350's but I know of at least 10 GR transmissions that I personally did. When they run out of warranty the owner gets to eat the cost. Hard to justify $4000 transmission repair (or replacement, sometimes it costs about the same) that's gonna do the same thing later on, and that cost is close to half of what the whole mower costs, and on top of all that, could have bought 2 craftsman, yard man, Johnnie Deere, etc mowers for that $4000.

I'll just say no comment, for being new here. Short of that, my BX23s has done everything for me I've wanted to do and do'd it well.

As stated above, the B3350 has been problematic.

It is also the only tractor available from anyone with a transferrable, lifetime "emissions" warranty.

That just means it's going to spend more time down for repairs at the dealer then doing chores on your property.............lol

I had a LX3310, did not find the diesel filter an issue or power. It was a cab tractor and my land is hilly.
It felt so top heavy even after wheel spacers. one day it started to go over and drop the bucket and 3 point down quick and stopped it, Change my shorts and carefully got it off the slope.
Went to the dealer and made a deal on a L6060 ROP with R-4s, 3 wheel weights in rear tires and spacers.
It is much better on side slopes!

Mine has been flawless since defective reformer, etc., replaced in 2020.

My L6060 ROPS is much less stable on hills (with FEL attached) than is my 3350, FEL or otherwise. Yes, it has the maximum of 3 rear weights per side (do not use liquid ballast) but it will not back up a slight incline on crushed rock with empty 4-in-1 bucket unless FWA engaged or something heavy on lift.
