    Hydrolic problems on KX71-3

Jeremy, It's hard to understand your question. You say "when you pull the safety lever up, it will stop". My question is, what is 'It'? Does the engine stop? Do the hydraulics stop?

    l4600 steering cylinder.

My son used a socket the right size and a sledge hammer. It popped right out. After seeing how the thing is built, I felt kinda dumb. I'm assuming all that need to be replaced is the seal in the center piston. I hope so because the seals are higher than jet smoke.

    l4600 steering cylinder.

I saw the alignment for the hydraulic ports. Problem is the ends that are in the bosses seem to be frozen. I think rust is the problem. Am I wrong in considering heat? I’m soaking it in penetrating oil.

    KX-080-4

I have had those symptoms on several kubota excavators. Check where the fuel hoses connect to the water separator. If the brass fittings where the hoses connect can be turned by hand, they are likely allowing air into the system. If they turn, seal them with JB Weld. If that fixes the problem...

    l4600 steering cylinder.

I have removed everything on the cylinder and should be able to slide it out of the machine. Nothing I do will move it all. I can get it to turn some in the holes but it will not slide out. Does anyone have any input on where to go from here? Thanks Mike

    L4600hst ghost steering

Wolfman, thanks for the reply. I figure that if anyone had ever been into one it would be you. I'll give the local hydraulics guy a try. The tractor is old and the replacement part represents a good percentage of the value of the thing. I'm thinking that my best bet is to trade it and go new.

    L4600hst ghost steering

The steering post tube broke at the base. I had the steering post welded back together. After reassembly, the tractor self steers. The front wheels have a mind of their own. Sitting idling, the wheels start moving left to right. All we did was repair the broken steering post tube. The steering...

Kx033-4 final drive oil drain plugs

I have owned dozens of KX machines and have never had a problem removing those plugs. Most of them come out with an allen wrench and a box end wrench for leverage.

    Kubota 1613ss bogging under load

Chech the fuel hose connection fittings at the water separator. I have had several cause that problem. If you can turn the fittings by hand, it's probably sucking air. They can be sealed temporarily with JB weld.

    Injection pump

I can't think of a route for fuel to get from the injector pump to the crankcase. Are you sure your fuel pump isn't the culprit?

I'd have a heck of a time explaining that to rental customers.

    Kubota d722 flywheel

Those flywheels have a certain bolt pattern. Turn it until all the holes match and bolt it up. If you can get all the bolts in, it's right.

    Older BX getting slower....

I'm with you on the hydrostat pedal. I have to adjust those things often and for the same reason. A good first/early thing to check. It doesn't take much to cause a problem.

Napa Premium Hydraulic Fluid and Performance - B2150hst 4wd

[ I recently got a mailing regarding a class action suit against NAPA for failure of their tractor hydraulic oil. I buy a lot from NAPA but not their tractor hydraulic oil so I threw it away. I googled NAPA tractor hydraulic oil recall and came up with this link...

    Takeuchi with Kubota engine

I have a Takeuchi skidsteer with a Kubota engine. The machine has 300 hours and is running hot. The upper radiator hose is sucked flat. We have replaced the radiator cap and it still sucks flat. We have checked everything but the thermostat. Could it be as simple as a bad hose?

2007 6040 seems to run out of fuel, what am I missing?

I have had that style filter fail several times. Try to turn the inlet and outlet fittings and see if they move easily. If they do, fill around the base of the fittings and the filter housing with JB Weld, let it set up and see if it will run. If the problem goes away, replace the whole thing...
