    maintenance

Yes, it could. There is a volume difference between a retracted and extended cylinder. The transmission oil is used to power the loader, depending on the size of the hydraulic cylinder, you could easily have a quart or two in the cylinders. For example: a 2x20 cylinder has 125 cu in of volume...

How NOT to do a hydraulic oil change...

Anit-freeze here is a big problem. Only one place I've heard that will take it, that's the county road works about 30 miles away. Nobody else. And it doesn't evaporate. As for used oil, all the parts stores that sell oil (including Walmart) will accept used oil. Some of them (like walmart) want...

    New dolly creation

Using what you have is the way to go. I have more than one welder and still make my dollies out of wood (mostly), my backhoe dolly is metal because of the weight it needs to support.

Anybody going to have the smoker fired up

We're doing a smoked turkey breast and heating up a spiral ham. It'll be just us and one son this year. I've got a pellet smoker that was given to me because the temp controller would not maintain a temperature and would occasionally shut off. I replaced the controller with a 3rd party one...

    Diesel Transfer Tank Build

I assume that you plan to lift it into the bed of your truck to haul it to the gas station so it won't be permanently mounted. Have you checked to see if the station will allow you to fill it? Some stations require tanks that are not permanently mounted to be placed on the ground before filling...

    Renting vs Buying attachments

When I decide whether to buy/rent/hire an implement I look at: 1) How many days do I expect to need it. 2) How many gaps and how long are the gaps in its use? 3) Can I run it all day long, day after day, until the job is done? 4) What is the cost to purchase? 5) What is the cost to rent and is...

    Danica Patrick on female drivers

I worked for a company where our site was male dominated - something like 4 women out of 100 employees. The CEO of the company sent a team around for sensitivity training. When they were finished at the end of the day, one of the women got up and told them they were full of c---p and if the...

    Vinyl seat repair

I had a tear in my seat and used plasti-dip then put a piece of canvas on that (while still wet) for reinforcing and then more plasti-dip. It has worked well.

This is what happens when you don't know sh!t about machinery.

From post #19: Where does one find bearings like that? I've looked for some, but also didn't know what they were called so that probably interfered with finding them.

    Bamboo root blocker install.

There are over 1000 species of bamboo but can be broken into 2 types: Clumping and running. Sounds like you have the running type. Clumping can be controlled more easily although it does spread, just not as agressively. You really don't want the running type.

I wonder if new made in China Kubota's could be imported.

There are several problems with importing a machine from overseas, especially from China. Other than the import paperwork and fees, there are emissions (EPA) and safety (OSHA) regulations that the machines have to meet. There is a person in another forum that imported a small trackhoe from China...

    Steering is backwards

post #18 "So the OP states he only removed and replaced one hose. Then the steering suddenly reversed. Either the OP is misleading us, or this is actually the situation. " post #7 " The steering wheel position WAS moved prior to the line being replaced. " If only one hose was removed and the...

Updated: Kubota Loader Weld-ons. What are these for?

Here's a picture of how the bars attach to the loader to unmount it from the tractor. This is a BF400 but very similar to yours. Note the bars pointed to by the black arrow are stored (and provide structural rigidity) when mounted to the tractor where the yellow arrows are.

    ORTHO weed killer opinion

Another thing you might want to try is to add a "spreader/sticker" to your tank, especially for things like poison ivy that have a waxy coating. There are actual bottles of "spreader/sticker" or you can also use a dish washing detergent like "Dawn" which breaks the surface tension of the spray...

    ORTHO weed killer opinion

You will find that Glyphosate (roundup) will work well on grasses and not so well on brush. Glyphosate will move through the plant and kill the entire plant (depending on concentration, amount sprayed, etc so may take more than one spraying). It does not translocate thru the soil. I use it...
