Your tacho should also have a rpm mark that will deliver 540 on PTO gear #1.

Most jobs I'll set the hand throttle, for FEL work I use the foot throttle.

I remembered to have a look at my L225 and there was no spring in that area.

I'm not familiar with your model tractor though using mine as a reference, yes, the 3pl should hold it's position when the lever is in the middle. As for raising the auger, being clay soil you may be exceeding the limit of the lift capacity when the lever is in the 'UP' position. When I'm using...

Hopefully something simple like an open interlock, maybe a seat or brake switch, or similar.

I also think it is the spring for the engine stop rod, as you have mentioned. Page 77 of the manual shows what I think is the spring in question mounted through a hole in the stop rod.

I can't believe the temps they've been quoting on the news for parts of the US and Canada, amazingly cold, stay safe (and warm) people.

When I'm at the farm next I'll have a look at the fuses, I can't remember what they look like. I'd be surprised if there's not someone/something local to you that would have those fuses or at least be a suitable alternative.

I call it elec-trickery so I'm not much help. Here's a wiring diagram, I hope that helps. Can you get fuse wire over there?
