I have a ZG 227G ZTR Kubota. I went to grease my deck pulleys and my middle bearing grease zerk looks bent, so I can't connect my grease gun.

I have a giant assortment of stainless, aluminum, etc. zerks in all sizes and metric/SAE .

Does anyone know what size and type of zerk this may be? And, what size wrench to remove and install it?

I had a stroke in Feb 2016. I drive, walk, mow, take my blades off and sharpen them, but my fine motor movements have not fully come back to my left hand. , essentially, I'M right handed for this. Any helpful advice is appreciated.

Thank you
Dr Mark

I can't help you with that deck, but a hint if you haven't seen it already is to get a Lock n Lube fitting for your grease gun. I have lost most of my manual dexterity due to arthritis and it is a godsend. Get it locked on using both hands if necessary, let go and then you have both hands to pump the grease gun.

Dr. it may have just turned some, so now it's at an odd angle. If it actually "bent" it would most likely break off at the base and you'd have some threads left in the hole.

Might take a small set of wrenches to see which one fits on the flats and give it a nudge to an angle you can get the grease gun on.

Ditto what D2Cat said, sometimes, like on a pto - it will move into a position that will not allow the nipple to hit straight on.

Take something and see if it will turn .....clockwise that is and see if will align itself!;):)

SheepFarmer, I have a Lock n Lube, but it's too long for some spots, so I got this locking attachment
Lock on Grease Gun Coupler, Grease Gun End, Easy Connect/Disconnect Zerk Coupler https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TLD6VR8/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_yblGzbEXGC6BR
It, too, only takes one hand to engage and won't pop off. You pull back on the lip and it releases. It's just smaller to fit into tight spaces.

D2 Cat and 85Hokie .I'm gonna look and see if that zerk may be angled and if so, I can turn the blades and rotate the pulley.

Thank both all of you for your help and kindness. [emoji106]

Thanks doc for the link to the other type. There is one zerk on the loader for the B2650 that the lock n lube is too big to reach, and I skin my knuckles trying to get a regular fitting off. That might be just the ticket.

You're welcome. I think it's like $35.00. [emoji4]

On my 48" mower the middle zerk was angled but got slightly over tightened and I had same problem as you, I replaced it with a straight one no problems greasing now. 7 or 9 mm open end wrench to remove, Good Luck.

Hey Russell, thank you so much for the offer! But, I'm about as far from you as could be. I'm in the farthest part of northeast Texas, Texarkana. Half the city in Texas and half in Arkansas. But, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your offer and kindness. Thank you very much [emoji120].

Yes that would be a good days drive. Good luck with it and don't be shy about asking someone for help if you need it. Most people love to help but hate to offer it for fear of insulting others

I've had trouble matching Kubota zerks in the past, even with metric assortments. Thread pitch wasn't identical. I've got several I've robbed off Kubota machines and decks over the years. Pm me an address and I'll drop a couple in the mail to you.

Dr. I'd suggest go up to Delmar's post where his name is on the upper left corner. On his name left click your mouse, you'll where to send a private message. Send him your address.

Go to your previous post and delete it. That way your address won't be posted all over the internet and may keep you from receiving unwanted emails.
