Should have bought Microsoft on opening day in 1986!

A $1,000 investment in Microsoft on the day of its initial public offering, or IPO, on March 13, 1986, would be worth more than $1.6 million today, according to CNBC calculations. Nov 19, 2018
I waited till 1992 before I bought it.

I like the saying “If you fail to plan you planned to fail”
Very important rule towards investing so you won‘t “Have” to work for the rest of your life.

Agree with Mike. Almost the only way now to manage to retire in time and be able not to work till the end of your life is to invest in stuff all the time. The money should work for you and not you work for the money. This is the key truth about the current economy.
It can be anything: long-term investments or forex trading – anything. just don’t let the money exist in your bank account in vain. It’s time to start investing right now. Just learn the forex market opening time and get started with the simplest and the most reliable assets like oil, gas, or real estate. Try, and you will succeed.

I lost all my small money along with my firearms and other valuables in an unfortunate boating accident.

Been retired for 12 years now, after 30 years at a Fed job. Payroll deductions added a percentage of my base pay to my 401k. After all this time, still haven't touched the fund. SS for both of us, retirement annuity, and a good property manager for my rental property in another state give us plenty.
