Trees grow so slowly up here and I'm lucky to see a foot of growth each year so it sure is kind of awful to see such lovely trees removed in such a way.Yep. I agree with you 100%
You should have replaced the shy of 3 gallons plus what may have been in the filters. Some of the original oil remained in the system.Huge maintenance today on my B2620. I got it used and previous owner had done the 200hr service. But I just hit 400hrs and most everything was due. She got new engine oil and filter, new air filter, new fuel filter, complete change of hydraulic fluid and both filters, and since the front axle seals were leaking - they got replaced with new seals and then it was topped off with new gear oil in front axle. All told about 6hours of work that went seamlessly thanks to lotsa research here and at YouTube.
Question now that it is done as it pertains to what the manual says and what really happens. With a complete hydraulic fluid drain and filter change, the manual says that 4gals is the capacity. It also says that under daily use, one should check the dipstick to verify the oil level is between the two lines. I have done this for years... religiously... every time. I drained out just shy of 3gals of old fluid and when I put the 4 new gallons in, the fluid is way up the dipstick. I am not running the tractor today to let the rtv sealant cure on the axle hubs so I will recheck hydraulic oil levels in the am. Is this "normal" in that it takes some time for the hydraulic fluid to settle in throughout the system and then when I fire it up and pressurize the system, the oil will circulate thru the system purging and air and normalize the level?
What @Orange man said. Too easy to remove the loader to risk it coming down. Makes it a lot easier to lube and clean excess grease on the loader too.Have any of you made a cylinder safety stop for your loader? I'm looking for fabricate my own. I was just wondering because it will be a lot easier and a safer to service the tractor. 10 more hours until first oil change! Gonna replace the filters too, might as well change the fuel filter while I'm at it. It doesn't look bad at all but can't hurt. The air filter needs to be changed as well. Gonna be a pricey day at the dealership getting the stuff![]()
Agreed. I tried talking them out of it several times (they are friends of mine, same place I just did the regrading and stone around the pool). Yes, I am charging them for the work. He owns a funeral home and has charged my family quite a bit over the years...so...Trees grow so slowly up here and I'm lucky to see a foot of growth each year so it sure is kind of awful to see such lovely trees removed in such a way. They looked amazing in front of the house but I guess everyone has their reasons, and it's not your job to convince them of anything.
I would have thought that those trees could have been sold i.e. removed and possibly replanted. I've seen those massive tree removing spades on occasion. I'm not an arborist so have no idea if it would have been possible or practical to remove and replant but it sure would have been nice to see that.
I’d like to see the trailer hitch on your box blade. I want to add one to mine so I don’t have to drop the box blade every time I need to move a trailer. I have a Land Pride BB1248 (but could really use the BB1260 or BB1272 behind the LX). I want to build something I can easily swap to a new blade if I decide to spend the money, maybe a clamp-on of some sort. I’m shamelessly asking to see yours so I can plagiarize it. I might shamelessly do exactly that. I don’t really want it for pulling a fully loaded 7K trailer, but it should support my yard trailer loaded with leaves etc.Getting ready for some splitting tomorrow, she’s road worthy!
