I have told a couple a guys on here about this sweeper mod I'm doing. It is a power sweeper from a walk behind Gravely. I am hooking it up to my Steiner. Now the sweeper is shaft drive. All Steiner stuff is belt drive. I am almost done, and not very happy. I will try and take some pics and you guys will see what I mean. A steiner or ventrac (same thing) sweeper sits right up close to the front of the tractor. With the shaft drive that I built mine sticks way out front. It will work alright, but its nothing I am going to brag about doing. To put it bluntly it has been a frustrating day. But on the other hand when the day is done I get to come on this forum and have more than a few chuckles and read about stuff that I am interested in ,from people that actually have a sense of humour. A great way to end the day.:D Dusty

Dusty, I used to have this friend. He was pretty cool and every time I would work a project and say stuff like you did he would tell me "Jeez, get over your self, you're such a perfectionist you are never gonna get anything done".

Well there buddy, I know what you just built is going to be way better than anything I could do. So no matter what standard you set for your self I am still going to be the guy wishing he could fabricate like you.

Have a good night my friend,
Scott

Dusty sometimes brother it doesnt matter what it lookes like in the end, as long as it works and does its job thats all that really matters in the long run. I have made alot of oddball and goofy lookin stuff in my time but hey it works and gets the job done and thats all Im worried about. This aint no fashion show beauty contest we're in. Hell I took an extendable paint stick thats ment for a roller and can reach over 12 feet, stuck and empty paint roller on it, put a hunk of plywood and some ducttape and used it to remove snow off the roof of the house so it wouldent F'up the gutters.

Tractor porn you want tractor porn you got. Its (as Eric would aptly put it) Fugly. But both the sweeper and the tractor have their top's of so it should qualify as tractor porn. Had it's first test run just to make sure it was going to work. It does and fairly well at that. Still lots to finish up. Not sure if the frame work from the Steiner is strong enough. Anyway here it is.:D Dusty

Dusty got to tell you. In the end you had a very good day and it works. You can always go under the steiner and streghten the frame if needed. Those things are tough and it does look good. handy

That is my sons place and that is him driving. He had the Steiner for the winter with the blade on it and that is where he pushed all his snow. They use quite a bit of sand on the roads here in the winter and it migrates onto the yard. I wanted to see it work on some uneven ground so I went out to watch. It didn't mater where I stood it was down wind. Here is a vid of it pushing snow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOtZLMU-k30 :D Dusty
