Deer are getting pretty close to the house. Might have posted the young buck under the "What's Cookin'" thread.....just wishful thinking.... ;)

The doe tonight wandered into the yard straight toward me while the dog was out. Last year's fawn would be my guess.

At first was concerned with "abnormal behavior" as deer can easily get rabies, but she was fine, just young.

They might be brother and sister…

Let the migration begin. Every year the Monarchs show up in the grove for a week or so, then are gone. Hundreds of them.

I am happy to be on the sidelines where it is much easier and safer than being the keeper! Shot with Canon 1DX III and EF 70-200 f2.8 glass.

This guy hangs out near my back garage door. I thought a snake got him because I haven’t seen him for a while. He’s pretty big…about the size of a hamburger patty….lol

I had cleaned and re-leveled my box blind I use for hunting/photographing the other day and had a chance to spend a bit of time yesterday evening with my camera. Fall is a great time to be out and about and I am so thankful I have a tractor that I can maintain the place and allow moments like this.

A couple of small bucks stopped by for a visit and then as I left to drive home I caught this ruffed grouse in full display.

Went for a little 15+ mile hike Last week. There is only one place on earth where this shot can be taken looking down on Half Dome. Cloud’s Rest, 360 degree view…

Just for a chuckle…….Walking my dogs this morning….off in the distance seen what I thought were a couple pigs meander across the road. Thought for a minute…we don’t have feral hogs around here…not sure about my eye sight…went to investigate…sure enough…texted my neighbor at work who has a small hobby farm…sure enough he has a couple….he was just getting ready to do a presentation to the general manager at his production plant…lol. He managed to sneak out to save his expensive bacon! Helped him corrall them back up. One had to take a quick mud bath before going back in the pen.

would that be a bobcat?
Yup, I say “My kitties”, only because they roam my property. They go where/do as they please.

This is another 1. I think I have 4. I identify them by patterns of spots, size, & location.

thanks - I didn't realize they had the spot pattern. The trail cameras are fun- we have 2 now and have learnt a lot of who goes where when - including 1 black bear. Not a great shot or I would share it.

Today was not a great picture taking day due to the overcast washed out looking sky but I still enjoyed getting to my land for a few hours today. Central Wisconsin in my opinion has had one of the best fall foliage displays in many years. I hope others in different areas of the country have experienced the same thing!

The white in the center of this picture is my outfitters tent and camping area.

Full moon last night with just a hint of fog. It gave everything a surreal glow.

A disappointing game in the third round of post-season with a loss but it was a beautiful afternoon yesterday for HS football. This TD was called back because of the no hurdling rule in HS football but it was still a beautiful display of athleticism by the running back.

Shot with a Canon 1DX III and EF 70-200 f2.8 lens.
