The wife's new "wild pet".
This little guy (gal?) comes within 4-5 feet to munch leftover lettuce.
Shows up about the same time everyday at the cabin.
We think it may be living under my shipping container.

We see about 3-4 of these a year at the cabin.
This one is about 4" long.

Here in Central Wisconsin the black bear population is sparse compared to our northern counties. I am still excited to see them on my trail cams or very rarely with my own eyes.

These are two different bears caught on trail cam walking about 30 seconds apart. The first of the two looks to me to be on the large size! Not sure if I want to surprise either one while in my wheelchair pruning trees etc, lol.

Very interesting Ken! Thanks for sharing those pics! 👍👍
Your welcome!
I have had a sow and two cubs on trail cameras before, this is the first time that I have had two more mature bears at the same time. I have a series of pictures as they walk down my two track trail then veer off to the right. I do not know enough about black bear behavior to know how common or uncommon this is.

Another picture of the larger of the two as it walks down the trail and later that day a displaying tom and two hens.

Some good friends came up from Missouri for the Iola old car show and swap meet this last week. One of the largest if not largest combined car show/swap meets in the nation.

They had just purchased the black 77 Pontiac Trans Am a few months ago and was their first long road trip with it. The blue 69 Dodge Superbee clone is my son's car that I put together in 1997 or so and which he purchased from me 2017.

The Peterbuilt rat rod was about as crazy and unique a vehicle that I have seen. I should have gotten better pictures but for example check out the size of the pistons that serve as headlight buckets!

Being a Mopar fan I thought the Dodge Town Wagon , not sure of the year , was a very cool and extremely well done restoration. Something you do not see every day. It really struck me how popular trucks and early SUV from the mid 50's to early 80's have become. 20 years ago at Iola if someone was displaying a pickup truck everyone wondered if a mistake was being made. Now a good percentage of post war cars and even the blue ribbon cars where trucks. :)

My sister found this saddleback caterpillar today. Looks like something out of Buck Rogers. They apparently have a potent sting.

Copperhead that fell out of an old tire I had picked up and moved. Glad I didn't get 'tagged'.

From the looks of the thickness....probably a female with a bunch of babies on board. They start having their young (live born) around Aug-Sept here.

I was gathering my camera and things to make the 17 mile trip to my land to checkout the wildlife. Glanced out my backyard bay window and captured this fawn. Sibling and mom had a head start .

After breakfast, the mutt and I were enjoying some coffee. Well, I was. He doesn't drink coffee. Anyway, momma and 3 fawns came strolling through the back yard. They didn't even notice us on the other side of the glass doors.
