hard as hell to search this. My appoligies if there is a thread in here on the topic already. Moderator feel free to move it to another thread if so.

Found this pic on ebay. Looked like a good way to custom build a FOP from an OEM ROP for most any older Kubota. Could see a few mods to add Lexan sheets or canvase forming a cab with this set up as well.

Hope it helps someone

The guy who designed and built that must have at some point been working in timber and got a close call by a widow maker!!

The design is to push up and over low hanging branches when your mowing around trees.
It won't do squat in a roll over situation, no support. ;)
In fact it could work against you as it would push the ROPS back and possibly brake the ROPS or the mounts.

I used to see a similar design on log skidders, but they were supported in a couple more locations through out the frame.

Agree..... with you and Darren. The angle is probably more of a Brush/limb Guide. Hopefull it is light weight tubing so it will just fold instead of breaking ROP mount. There is some other supports... but they look unfinished and unpainted. They are up by the ROP. In the photo they look dangerous where they sit unfinshed behing the Operators head. Or they are finished and it is hard to see in the photo?

IMHO the FOP needs a verticle by the dash to keep the ROP from folding toward the driver. CASE Unimog FOPS, and SEE Military Unimogs are similar though without a verticle as is some other Tractor-ish/Forrestry-sh and dump trucks I've seen.
