Was at a hydraulic repair shop yesterday and they had a sign near the working counter that said, "Checks under $20 will be charged 3%".

I was at the tire shop the other day, and there was a sign on the wall that must’ve been over 30 years old. It’s sad: Free Beer Tomorrow.

Nope, I paid with cash so I didn't care. I do think some merchants charge for the low amounts because of the fees they pay. On larger amounts they absorb the fees.

Lousy SCAM Niagara Falls,Ontario merchants add LOTS of 'fees' as it's a tourist trap.....

It is OK.. The last time I visited Niagra Falls Canada, you didn't even need a driver's license to cross the border and I have no desire to go back. My wife asked me to take her once, and I suggested that it would be a nice place for her to go for her next honeymoon.

Keep in mind that EV cars don't pay any road taxes. The politicians are gearing up to tax cars based on miles traveled, along with the other gasoline/diesel taxes. Politicians are greedy pigs that keep getting fatter on the rest of the people's money.

Some states instituted or soon to be instituting a higher registration fee to cover the road tax shortfall.

I believe your correct. Not sure if it was implemented yet, but heard it was in the works.
