A friend and I put this box together last night after five hours and many beers. We really took our time and tried to think of everything. I haven't seen one with a detachable lower pallet section like this. It seems like it's gonna come in handy. For now I'm just dropping a few bolts through the deck boards and then through the carryall to keep the pallet attached to the back. I've also finally figured out how to get this damn quick hitch working. I had to get a shorter top link and move the lift arms into different holes. I guess the lift capacity will suffer but we shall see.

Seeing that first picture, I though you had a contract to haul a VIP to some Prom or something!!

After all it is a "carryall".

Nice work.

Very nice setup there. When I redo mine I may incorporate some of your ideas :)

Lol. I thought it kinda looked like a big bench too. I may use it to give hay rides. :D Everyone is more than welcome to use the design. I added some tiedown rings to it and did a few other things. I will take some more pictures and post them later.

I like - I've been considering building something similar and may steal some ideas. One thought for those with barbed wire fences, it would be convenient to drill two holes, one on each rail, and then mount a mandrel of some kind for wire spools.

Another thought, maybe add a couple of eye hooks to and strap a 55 barrel drum to it for it to double as 450 lb ballast. With your design the barrel could made to stand or lay horizontally.

I got to put it to use today. It worked out very well. I was thinking about making another smaller pallet that would sit inside the forks. I'm going to make the bottom out of 2x12 and put a rain barrel on it. I can scoop it up and bring it around to water plants.

I've seen this type of thing before, but not nearly as nicely executed.

Looks top drawer.

If it were mine I'd stain the wood orange. But that's just me.

Dont forget water weighs a bit over 8 pounds a gallon. And if you are going to use say a 55 gallon drum you looking at 440 pounds or there about. And water sloshing around, can make things really exciting . I know this from a 275 gallon tank in the back of a pick up! So I would lay the barrel on its side so it wont slosh up high and really start to rock your tractor,, just a thought

. What is your 3pt lift capacity listed as?
. What is the weight of your box?
. What is the weight of your fork setup?

I will keep the sloshing water thing in mind. My property is real hilly so I will need to be careful.

The tractor 3 point hitch will lift 2139 at the lift ends and 1676, 24 inches out.
I'm gonna have to guess the weight of the carryall frame is maybe 80 pounds and all the wood is 150 pounds. I had that load of wood in the previous pictures stacked up high and the tractor lifted it with no problem. I also lifted a boulder with just the forks once and it lifted it easily. I'm not sure how much the boulder weights but I think granite is 170 pounds per cubic foot.

Mine has been VERY handy. Only thin I would change or add would be a vise. Might get one of those receiver vises from Wilton.
