    L185 dropping 3pt linkage

Thank you for your reply Jimmy. It does seem to be the most likely problem but just not sure if it was connected with anything else. Cheers.

    L185 dropping 3pt linkage

Hi all, I haven't been on here for a while and it just seems as though I do when I have an issue with my little tractor - sorry about that. I have an old L185 or L1501. Over the last year or so I have noticed that the 3pt linkage drops completely over night. It has now got so bad that I am...

L185 transmission level - oops, unscrewed wrong bolt!

P3ter, The last thing that any one here would do would be to point a finger and laugh at you. You have made an honest mistake by removing the wrong bolt. The bolt you have removed would probably be the bolt securing the shaft that allows the fork shifters to slide along. It is a shame that you...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

I just thought I would give you guys an update of my charging light problem which today has been solved. Some may benefit if a similar issue arose. As luck would have it, my hours/rev counter cable snapped a short while back and today I having been sent a replacement from the dealer (under...

    New Kubota owner

Hi Sledge and welcome. I am from the UK but now live in Spain. I have a L1501. This site is a great place for advice and information and the guys here have a good knowledge of the old and new. Try to pick yourself up an owners manual and service manual if they did not come with your tractor...

    kubota L185

Hi Carroll and welcome to the forum. I am a relative new comer here myself but since joining have found that everyone here appears to be a friendly and helpful bunch. On to your problems. First of all, if the oil light is on, do not run up the engine until you have found what is causing the...

    L245DT charging light

akcdualch Appreciate that. I will await your findings. I have to say that at the moment, it is so hot over here that I have not been to the tractor shed for a few days. I was using it last week though to cut my friends plot and it was running fine but it is so annoying to have the light on all...

    L245DT charging light

'You need help of some expert or do some research in search engines.' That was helpful - thanks. The whole idea of posting a thread such as this on this forum is that you are more than likely to receive 'expert' advice from fellow Kubota owners that may have experienced the same or similar...

    L245DT charging light

Hi, I submitted a similar charging light problem with my L1501 a month or so back. It is very frustrating to know that the system is charging but the light comes on. I have cleaned all connections, checked and double checked contacts and I still have problems. It was only a few days ago that I...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

Thanks Robert. I have a 3 wire plug plus the thick red one for the battery. I have been using my tractor all morning and the light is now on continuously without any flickering. I will however give those terminals at the back of the alternator a clean and see what happens. I will also see if I...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

Ah well, as the title of this thread suggests, I have a L1501 which is the same as the L185 but being a 'grey import' purchased in Spain, who knows. I have an electrically operated hydraulic system on it which no-one here appears to have heard of either. Just for your info, there appears to be...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

Very descriptive reply and explains things very well. Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive text. I will try the tests with the engine not running, idle and at 1500 rpm and see what results I get. If the alternator is charging the battery then I shall learn to live with the...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

Thanks for the reply gpreuss. Please excuse my ignorance but where are the 'slip rings' as I have had a look in the parts manual and can't find any terminology that represents them. Are they known by another name. Sounds logical although I thought my output of 13.8 volts would have been about...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

Hi all. I am in need of some input (again) from you guys please. I recently replaced a freeze plug which nessecitated removing the alternator and starter motor to get access behind them. Up to this point, I had no electrical issues. After the replacement of all removed parts I had a good two...

Zen Noh ZL 3000 ID & Leak help please...

Hi D Can't help much with the oil leakage but it would appear that the ZL3001 may be the the same as a Kubota L305. Whilst it's not the ZL3000 it may be a starting point for you. Good Luck. Gary

1801 DT 4 speed PTO, which one for 540 RPM?

Yes, most implements seem to have stated on them not to run them over 540 rpm. I do cheat however. I use a brush cutter for my land which is flat but agricultural so a grass mower is no good. Given that now all I need to do is cut the top of the grass, rather than running the brush cutter pto...

1801 DT 4 speed PTO, which one for 540 RPM?

Yes it is the first gear but make sure you have the correct engine revs otherwise you wont get that 540 rpm. Not sure what the exact revs are for your tractor but there should be a mark on your tachometer to tell you what revs to go up to. On my L1501 it is 2,800. Gary
