Hello all - I am new to this forum, but have enjoyed all the great info and support from it for many months. I just purchased my first Orange lady two days ago....L1501DT w/Loader - 841hours. From reading here already i think i made a great purchase with a decent price. I gave the previous owner $2000usd?? Anyone know of this tractor selling recently and what price they are going for?

My last question for the my first post is an operators manual;(L185) anyone able to point me it he right direction for a PDF manual? I just bought and downloaded the shop manual and parts diagram, but i know i could greatly benefit from an operators manual.

I am starting on the first overhaul of the fluids, filters, and degreasing tomorrow!!

Thanks in advance.

Stephen

just an update on the L1501dt...i was tackling the fluid and filter overhaul today, and found that the oil filter is a spin on???? i had called and ordered a napa #7030 and was going to pick it up, but quickly found that the oil filter a common spin on type and easily obtained it at the local parts shop.

Does anyone know where the difference comes in?? all the reference pages i have found for the 1501 show the oil filter being a cartridge stye IE Napa-7030?? The filter i bought was the oil filter for the L185dt

Hi Stephen.

Welcome to the forum.

Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the operators manual.

Regarding the oil filter, from memory, mine (L1501/L185F) is the spin on type.

Gary,

I recently bought a L1501DT and was wondering if you can send me a copy of the operators manual too? I still haven't changed the fluids, and want to before winter here. I need quantities, grades, and fill/full locations.

Thanks,
jc

sorry for whipping this dead horse some more...but was giving my notes a read through from the fluid change and found another change for my 1501dt....The oil filter was not the Napa 7030 but a Fram 3600/2860A (or cross reference equivalent) and the other change was with the fuel filter, the grey tractor oil filter reference page called for a wix 33389 filter...this filter is a cartridge/drop in filter.....i ended up buying the wix 33390 filter which was the spin on type. i think both of the changes go along with Vic's post earlier about early and latter model year tractors.

Just some more info for another newb!!!

Hi all,
I just bought a L 1501 DT for 4750.00. Been looking for 2 years. Everything else - when I found it was twice as much. It has 978 hrs new front tires, FEL, box scraper and directional blade. So far I an very happy with it. But I would like to change all filter and fluids. I have the filters, but not sure for qty's of engine / trans fluids.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Tom

Re: L1501dt - 3 Pt Lift capacity?

Hi fellow L1501DT fans ... Shout out to fellow OR buddy jc64

Background:
- Bought my 1501DT (Aka L185) in 1996, 475 hrs with tiller
- Added a Bush Hog 1846 QT FEL
- Been a great tractor for mowing and property needs for all these years

Looking to add a small Backhoe ... Narrowed down to two I like,
1. WoodMaxx, 6 foot (995lbs) comes with Thumb
2. Liberty Backhoe, 5 foot (750lbs)
Maybe someone knows a better on?

The one piece of solid info I can't seem to find in my reference books or online is:

What is the 3 Point hitch lifting capacity of the L185/L1501DT?

Could it handle 1000 Lbs?

Thank you very much ... Good to be here.

Hello Russell King ...

Thank you very much for the Reply and information ...

Guess it would really be pushing it for one of these small Backhoe units.

Hello all

I'm also looking for an owners manual for the L 1501DT. I have searched online, but downloading what I have found installed junk in my bowser.

Anyone have a PDF of it, or know where I can get one?

Thanks,
Harold

If anyone can help, I am in need of any manuals for the L1501DT. Can I get these through the forums here? Anywhere else?
Many thanks,
Alex.
I sent you some links to the manuals. The l1501 is basically an l185, and around 90% of the parts are the same as your l1501 :D

I see your in the UK. Is that model Grey Market in UK like it is here in USA? If not then a UK based tractor forum might can lead you to manuals we don't have access to here in the US.
