    Considering a L5030 HSTC

When this deck gets to the point of being more work than it's worth it would be nice to get a new one. It is partway through its 6th season after the refurb. I don't remember what I paid for it - maybe $500 or $600. I enjoy tinkering. The baffles were easy. The most difficult part was...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Nothing too interesting. Backed the tractor out of the shed to access an overhead storage rack so I could slide a partial sheet of drywall up on it. That guarantees I'll never need a part sheet of drywall. Had I gotten rid of it, I'd need a piece next week:)

    No work!

Way way back in high school I had German classes. One thing that was interesting is that sometimes German names for objects are almost like descriptive partial sentences. Instead of calling something a "clip", the word might be "steelthingthatholdsthepulley".

    Considering a L5030 HSTC

So far I've been using one of those long plastic transmission funnels. It is a little unhandy and am going to try a little pump. Haven't tried the little pump I bought. It arrived after the most recent fluid change. It's supposed to be good for diesel and oils.

    Telescopic stabilizer kit opinions?

That's what I thought till I simply flipped the rear window up and leaned back a little :)

    Telescopic stabilizer kit opinions?

I like the telescopic stabilizers a lot more than turnbuckles. When swapping implements it's a simple matter to pull both pins and the lift arms are free. Takes longer with turnbuckles. Same with hookup. Just drop the pins into the appropriate holes and you're ready. I bought a Cat1 QH many...

    Considering a L5030 HSTC

You'll become accustomed to toe and heel on the pedal. I almost never use the brakes except for parking on a hill. The only time I ever used brakes for turning was years ago when helping the in-laws cultivate young corn.

    Daily Chuckle

I met one of our superintendents to take him along to an initial job conference. I asked him if he was having a problem with his foot, since he had one work boot and one sneaker. He was stunned. He had some story about getting ready to leave his house, dog needed to poop, etc and the...

    B7800 Purchase

That makes sense. With nearly 10 more HP and the three ranges it is a substantial move. I had a B7500 and went to an L3200 that resulted in approx. the same improvements, but a larger frame. The L3200 handled a 6' RFM better than the B7500 handled the 5 footer.

    Considering a L5030 HSTC

My thought when seeing that picture is "D2Cat knows how to use a VSR drill":) Anyone who can control the joystick for something as twitchy looking as that has certainly also mastered the use of the switch on a variable speed tool.

    B7800 Purchase

They both look like nice clean tractors. Without knowing what your usage and plans may be, it makes me wonder why an upgrade doesn't include things like a loader, even more HP, etc. or perhaps even a cab. With those front weights it leads me to believe you want to do more than run around with...

    Best decision I ever made

Very nice, congratulations! You will be smiling every time you climb into the cab. A cab is great for all seasons - hot, cold, dust, bug, pollen, etc:)

L3010 & 2-post lift to access mower deck blades?

Never had a 2 post lift. I did have a tractor with a belly mower. To R&R blades on it I used a pair of car ramps. My guess would be that the lift should work. If I were using one I'd swing the arms so they'd point more or less toward each other. Probably wouldn't side-load the posts, but...

    B7200 exhaust up or forward

The muffler on my Ford 1210 rotted out. It discharged in front of the tractor. Whenever I mowed with it the strong diesel exhaust was very annoying. When I replaced it, I took it straight up with a Cherry Bomb and flapper on top. Directing it up made a huge difference. Can't even smell the...

    Moving a butane tank

Yes, and using the curl/dump you can regulate how tight the chains get. I'd think you don't want to curl the bucket to the point you add more load to the chains than needed.

    Moving a butane tank

ASSUMING that it's propane and empty. It'll still weigh around 950#. Without the benefit of forks and hooks, I'd try getting two chains around it (under it with both ends of the chain up). Then I'd drive up to it with the bucket at full dump. Toss the chains up over over the top of the...

Ran out of Diseal won't start. Help

I had an L3200 for 6 or 7 years. I recall it was not as easy as some to start after cleaning / replacing the fuel filter or running out of fuel.
