    1640a loader float?

First thought is to do as Runs With Scissors suggests. IF you are mechanically inclined, patient and lucky you could have a look at the innards. I once had a B7500 that "lost" the float mode. Although it was stored inside water must have gotten into the valve (not into the hydraulic section...

    It didnt rain today

It rained in my part of PA. Even had a flood watch in the county. We were in Costco in Lancaster this afternoon and a downpour came through. Sounded like someone was driving a train on the roof.

i need help with these errors on my L 3560 tractor

I'm no mechanic and certainly not versed on computerized stuff. According to a few things that popped up the serious concern would be the P0605. The other two may possibly be fixed with cleaning them.

    Is my bucket to big?

One of the many stories about the company I worked for that didn't have "tractor people" working there was when they bought a large light materials bucket for their Montana. Then they tried using it for everything. The tractor wasn't happy.

    Exhaust modification

Here are two pics I found on the internet - not mine. I couldn't find any pictures of the left side of mine with the stock muffler and my expired stock muffler went away years ago. One picture is an original muffler and the other is a 1210 that still wears the stock muffler. What appear...

    Exhaust modification

The original horizontal mount ran out the front without additional support. When the tractor hits a bump the rotational force at the flange might be pretty much the same.

    Exhaust modification

Mine has held up for a few years. When I built this one the only replacements I could find were vertical mount with no provisions for support other than the 4 bolts on the manifold.

    New Cars/Trucks

The 5.3 doesn't concern me as much as the 6.2 does. As I mentioned, I put almost 300K miles on the company Tahoe I had. It had the 5.3 and cylinder deactivation. I'd prefer not having the start/stop crap and it'd be nice if it got a few more MPG, but am more ready to move on it than Wifey...

    New Cars/Trucks

Still looking for a vehicle to replace our aging Trailblazer. There's just so darn much to not like about different new vehicles. My first choice would be a Tahoe. I had a 5.3 company Tahoe that went close to 300K, so that gives me at least a little confidence with all the talk of the bad...

    Heat Dome

Our local TV station has had an "ALERT DAY!!" almost every day. Over the weekend an alert was issued and upon checking the details, found a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Their news is often something that would pass for an old Saturday Night Live skit. It isn't unusual to read something on...

    Daily Chuckle

Wifey, Sweet Pea and I were shopping for some back to school clothes this afternoon. Sweet Pea was being even a bit more energetic than usual. Every 10 seconds there was something new that caught her eye. It was a constant "Mommy, Mommy can I have this? Mommy, Mommy I need a new backpack...

    Box or Grading Scraper?

I have used scraper blades, York rakes and a few different DIY land plane types of implements for gravel driveways and parking areas. I briefly owned a box blade, but only used it for turning a cornfield into a yard. A land plane-ish implement is my first choice for leveling out gravel. The...

    Land Pride RFM (1672 Vs 2572) behind a B2650

Land Pride quality has never been an issue in my experiences. I also have quite a few years of pulling Caroni RFM's. While i can't claim Caroni is equal to Land Pride they're pretty good. They are also much lighter than Land Pride. I've mentioned before that my Ford 1210 handles a 5' Caroni...

How to remove air from L4310 fuel system

That is the procedure I followed yesterday. Worked perfectly. The L4240 started immediately and didn't even run rough.

    Fair Price for cutting

As mentioned, insurance is something to consider. My cost and coverage are dependent on whether I charge or not. I'd guess you're going to need a lot more than an hour with a 6 foot mower.

    Land Pride RFM (1672 Vs 2572) behind a B2650

I expected to see a thicker deck on the 2572. They look remarkably the same on their respective spec pages. The 2572 gear box takes 3.5 pints of lube where the 1672 only takes 2.5 pints. The 1672 hitch is noted as being QH compatible. I've had LandPride 5 and 6 foot RFM's. The 6 footer...

    L3302 hot floor boards

Assuming you have bare steel floorboards, probably normal. The HST and hydraulic lines get quite hot. , and if you don't have anything between the metal floor and you it'll get toasty.

Although it was hot early today it was time to pay some attention to a few things. Cleaned underside and sharpened the blades on the RFM and lubed it Blew out radiator, A/C coils and hydraulic oil cooler. Blew out the air filter elements. Replaced fuel filter. Couple of notes: For...
