Debating purchase of a used BX2830 snowblower

A snow blower is fun sometimes, depending upon the application. Given a choice I'd pick a front blower with a cabbed tractor IF there were no parking lots to do. I had a rear blower for several years. Although backing into the snow wasn't an issue for me, a front blower (at much more cost)...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Just finished mowing tonight (10:00 PM here in PA). Started mowing right after the rain stopped. The right numbers tonight were 3 MPH and 420 PTO RPM for very good results. We got home earlier this evening after being away for a few days. Grass was too tall to ignore. I don't mow on Sundays...

    Hormuz and ORD

There are a few mostly smaller dealers around here that will deliver ORD but often with a minimum. This one fills our 1000 gallon underground LPG tank as well.

Sorry. I was looking at it wrong. I thought the red wire was taking power into the starter solenoid:(

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Rumor was that some shafts that were slightly undersized got through and it wasn't discovered until problems arose.

    Are y'all enjoying

I think our high yesterday was 98° and I don't know what the humidity was. When I went to the kitchen to make coffee first thing and saw condensation on the outside of the window it was an indicator. I wanted a used male Pioneer connector from the shed for a small project and was glad to find...

2004 Grand L5030 will not start

I read this post for the first time this morning. It would be interesting to see what happens when you try two things: 1. Give a good tug on that red wire and see if it pops out of the StaKon. In the picture it looks like a potential problem. 2. Connect a tester between that bolt and ground...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

My BIL had a seal replaced that sounds similar. Pretty sure he said that before the new seal was installed they did something to the shaft to prevent future problems. Anyone else hear of that? Sort of thought they knurled it?

    Hormuz and ORD

We did a pretty involved electrical project at a hospital in Lancaster back in the 90's. At one point we used the existing diesel generators to carry the load while the utility power was off. One of them shut down. Major scramble and investigation followed. Turns out the generators...

    Daily Chuckle

There weren't aisles full of cereals till my childhood was in the rearview mirror. I do remember Corn Flakes being served at our house and oilcloth table cloths.

    Hormuz and ORD

With some treatment I never worry. When I was working we installed large generators for hospitals, offices and treatment plants. Some had day tanks of over 100 gallons and main tanks as large as 5,000 gallons. Most of these were standby only and ran very little. I'm sure there are some...

    Hydraulic pump strain

Yup Missed the brand new part. It's been a while and I can't remember if I did the one on the L4240 or the L3200. It was a matter of making sure it was adjusted so when the 3PH lever was raised fully it wasn't trying to raise the arms farther.

    Hydraulic pump strain

Look for hydraulic feedback rod adjustment. If it isn't adjusted properly, when the hitch is raised the hydraulics go into bypass. It squeals and affects other hydraulics.

    Hormuz and ORD

With the dwindling stock of off road diesel here and some craziness in the Middle East, it seemed like a good time to get refilled. In October 2023 ORD was around $3.91 and today the supplier quoted $3.08. The 150 gallon delivery coming will get me through about a year and a half depending on...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Danger. I was having some thoughts. According to a quick search, it appears that 10 meters of rubber hose will grow by 140mm with a 100°C (212°F) increase in temperature. Steel grows by about 1.2mm per meter for every 10°C. The coefficient of expansion of SUDT2 could be such that the hoses...

Of course keep your body parts clear. Start with the simplest things. Does the switch itself move as it should? Does it switch power as it should?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I'm not 100% certain that it's the heat. The white/yellow hoses are always the ones that end up with stored pressure. I never had the red/blue need relief. If it's all temperature-related why don't the red/blue hoses have pressure on them? Something else afoot? I'll need to look more...
