I am new to the forum and I hope someone can answer a question for me. I have a ZD21 that needs an engine. I found a D1005. My question is can I use the D1005 as a replacement without major modifications? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
The ZD21 takes a D782 no where close to a D1005, and no the D722 is not just a littler version of a D782, they are different series of engines, there is no direct cross over to another engine as far as i can tell, it's in a class all it's own.I am new to the forum and I hope someone can answer a question for me. Normally on an overheat on these engine one or 2 things happen, they either blow a head gasket (rare) or they crack the head, both are an easy fix, and much cheaper than a complete engine.Thank you both for the response. I do still have the original engine. I overheated it. It still runs but it now smokes, no water in the oil, but I think it will need to be rebuilt. I was just hoping to find an easy solution so I will be ready to cut my grass in the Spring.
