Will a B6000E (2WD) pull a 4 ft box blade?

There's a 4 ft box blade down the road from me for sale, it's a heavier duty one he says.

Do you think my little B6000E can pull it? The tractor has about 80-100 lbs of weights on the front and it handles the 3 ft bush hog I have on it now.

Any suggestions or opinions will be appreciated!

If you take it somewhat easy - it will be "ok" - light leveling and scraping tops of high spots, I think if you get into too much digging the teeth and/or hard soil, you might be stalling the ol girl. That is a good thing about the weight on the front, anyway to increase that a bit?

What kinda soil you gonna be diggin' in?

Thank a lot for the response and the help, 85.

I can try to find a way to rig up some more weight, not sure if I'd be successful anytime soon. What's on there now came with the tractor, not sure where they're originally from or if they're Kubota manufactured. I'll see if I have a pic and I'll post it for reference.

And as far as soil, I'm not exactly sure. Parts are sandy but then some parts is just a regular soil type texture. No clay or anything like that.

Here's a pic of the weights up front.

How far down the road? Could you run your tractor down there, put it, on and try it out?

I just looked at the Kubotabook site and they have manuals listed for the B6001. You might want to check the manuals for the Kubota specification for implements.

GF, thanks for the reply.

It's about 6-7 miles down the road. Worst case scenario I could always use it on the 8N so it wouldn't be a waste if it didn't work on the 'Bota but I'm hoping it will. Thanks for the link also.

Nice meats on that thing! If your soil isn't really hard or rocky, I think you'll be fine. One thing to consider- my neighbors B2100 (21hp) with 5ft box blade will level/spread faster/easier than my B7100 (16hp) with 42" box blade. But my setup will dig/rip circles around his rig; (especially in our hard/rocky ground)
The difference is cutting pressure of the box blade- about the same weight, but the smaller footprint (width) allows it to cut easier, doesn't spread the weight/cutting force over the larger footprint.

UMMMM No they don't?

And besides that why would he look up a B6001 (3 cylinder) when he has a B6000 (2 cylinder) which they do have the WSM for it just not the OPS manual? ;)

Thanks for the reply and the example to compare. Our ground isn't hard/rocky in most area, may have some here or there but I shouldn't have a problem it sounds.

Straight open pipes, that's got to be loud!
I hope your wearing hearing protection when your running that thing.;)
LOL!! Yes, it is loud and no I'm not wearing any hearing protection. Maybe I will from now on since you say that haha. It came like that as did everything you see. I'd like to put a muffler on there but the OE one is outrageously expensive and I haven't got around to seeing if I can have a muffler shop put something else on. I'd think they could make something cheaper than the OE.

Take a 3/8" plate. Cut it square to fit the exhaust flange. Drill holes for studs in the plate to match the exhaust, and cut center dia. to match exhaust. Go to local farm store, buy muffler with exhaust pipe attached and (hopefully) a 90deg. bend in it. Weld pipe at 90deg bend to center off your plate.

You won't have much money invested, but your ears will thank you.

Thanks for the detailed instructions, D2CAT! I will have to take it to get welded but everything else I can surely manage. I appreciate that.

OOPS Not sure if I typed it wrong or read it wrong.:( But as NIW says they have the 6000 WSM and I looked and it does have some specifications. The lift capacity at the end of the lower link is 795#. Two feet back for the box blade weight would be less, maybe 300 to 400 pounds.

I had the same issue with my L3450, had an under muffler when I bought it.
The OEM Mufller was over $1000!:eek::eek:
I just went to the farm store in town bought one off the shelf and made my pipe to fit, $28 later and I'm happy. :D

Thanks, that's what I'll end up doing. Might be a little more than $28 for me because I can't weld but it won't be much. Especially compared to the OE price lol.
