I am thawing out a beef brisket from our stash and have been looking for a decent procedure, wife likes tender, so I think I will crock it for 10 hours and then throw it on the grill to finish it off, get a nice glaze and color on it. We get a whole beef slaughtered so have all kinds of cuts and have to get creative preparing the different cuts.

So, I recently got yelled at by my daughter in law. The topic. The kids won't eat her pancakes or her syrup

Guess there's a difference between the box pancake mix, and poppy's homemade butter milk pancakes with pure maple syrup

Wife and I successfully corrupted the kids  Boys told there mom that they needed the real stuff like what poppy and granny get :D Daughter in laws biggest beef was what the price of it was locally. So I sent them home with what was left of the gallon jug we had in the fridge. And let her feel bad that she conned us out of our stash. What she didn't realize is I have another gallon in the pantry :p

My only complaint is my syrup order placed with my mom has quadrupled in the past couple years

My twin daughters should be back for Christmas from Monterey Bay California and Philly, along with their boyfriends.

(Dad has approved of the boyfriends for several years....good guys...and they DAMN WELL BETTER BE!! Neither of those boys wants to get sideways with the "very big old man"..:p:p)

My brother-in-law has again been generous with some venison parts....I butchered the hind quarters and he sent a surprise of 2 tenderloins in the bag....he's a great guy also..I even have the deer tag..

Quarters are broken into top, bottom and eye rounds, shank, and the sirloin tip. At least that's the way I do them... I've never had someone else cut up a deer. Do it at home.

The girls love it, and my prospective son-in-laws are good with it too! Great thing!

We'll do the tenders sometime while they're home. .

Sent the kids these pictures, and they were lickin' their chops!

Lot of 20-somethings now-days think beef/milk/eggs/etc. comes from the store....:eek:

Funny....guess it should look familiar....took this just last week after lifting hood and looking at engine....[emoji12]

1938 Cadillac V-16 Limousine at Car Museum cold storage. Ornament looks similar....I walked right by a 1936 Caddy in the same room...no picture of that.

I’m not very smart...just ask my wife...[emoji12]
