just bought an L260 and want to change the fluids/filters as usual. am planing to us Rotella 10/30 or 10/40 hr meter shows 466 hrs on new motor. would either of those be fine? will be run mostly in summer mouths mowing ditches and field edges at my hunting property

make sure you get a diesel oil.......regular or synthetic, your choice

Manual says (Below 32°F use SAE#10 or #10W-30) (32°F to 77°F use SAE#20) (77°F and above use SAE#30)
I use 10w-30 year round. You can also use a 15w-40 (Rotella or Delo 400.

I use 5w30 synthetic year round in all my diesels. You should be fine with the 10w30 or the 10w40 either. The 10w30 would be my personal choice of the 2.

Like 85Hokie said, be sure to use a diesel grade oil no matter what weight or brand you choose.
