PHPaul....Fantastic!! I'd swear I could've almost been back on our farmstead as a kid again!! Especially the house....identical! Beautifully done!!

Edit: Loved the missing "tin" on the shed roof. Dad was always going to fix that!................I said.....right, Dad. LOL

Thanks, bird dogger. This is the actual farm I grew up on. Notice the houses?

The red arrow points to the building Dad kept the All Crop combine in. It was the model for the steamer shed with the hole in the roof.

The building to the left of the silo is the corn crib that was the basis of the crib on my diorama.

House and barn in the lower part were my grandparents on my father's side, upper part was where we lived. This picture was taken right about the time I was born and I played in every one of those buildings!

I’m a little eccentric, I guess. I’m an amateur farmer, I fish, I hunt, and I’m into off-road power sports. All normal stuff. What is a little weird, is that I collect vintage Transformer toys. Yes, THOSE Transformers- “robots in disguise”.

My main hobby for the past 30 years at least has been firearms, firearms optics, suppressors, reloading, and load development. I used to shoot F-Class and USPSA when I lived in Hawaii but now I spend most of my time testing firearms and shooting steel out to 1,000 yards from my house. My hobby became a career about 12 years ago. I own a lot of firearms including a bunch of full-auto stuff, but my passion has been bolt action rifles and revolvers, with lever action rifles close behind. I build a couple of custom rifles each year and sell them after working up a load or two.

My favorite rifles are the four Accuracy International models that I have. The AW and AWM rifles have doubled in price over the last 10 years since AI no longer makes them. I have another AWM not shown in this photo but it's a .300 WM version of the AWM .338 Lapua Magnum shown at the back.

awm_aw_axmc.jpg

Here's the other AWM

awm_338lm_01.jpg

I built this rifle a couple of years ago. It's chambered in 6.5 PRC and will put 10 shots into 1/2" or better at 100 yards. I'm currently working on two custom rifles chambered in 7mm-08 AI which should be really nice mule deer rifles for Montana hunting.

kimber_8400wsm_6.5prc.jpg

I built this one too a couple of years ago and used it on an elk this past November. The receiver is the only one of its kind in the world, as is the rifle for that matter. Sadly the guy who used to make the bottom metal passed away a couple of years ago and his wife let the company close down so this would be a hard build to replicate. The entire rifle as shown weighs 8lb which is kind of amazing given the 30mm optic, suppressor, rail, sling and magazine.

Here's one of the two I'm building in 7mm-08 AI.

My three favorite revolvers include a Colt Python that I bought new in 1992 that has custom sights and a custom roller bearing sear conversion done many years ago by a gunsmith in Florida. Still the smoothest shooting revolver I've ever encountered. I have a chest carry rig that I use for either the Python, Redhawk or Super Redhawk when out in the back country hiking, fishing, camping etc.

My other two favorite revolvers are a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Casull that was converted from an Alaskan model, and a Redhawk in .45 Colt. Both were sent to the incredibly talented Mr. Bowen of Bowen Classic Arms.

This is how the Super Redhawk started out.

SRH.jpg

And this is how it ended up after Hamilton Bowen worked his magic.

srh_bowen_right2.jpg

And here are both Rugers after Hamilton Bowen spent some time with them. The Redhawk didn't go through as much trauma as the Super Redhawk but it got the same awesome sight conversion and a trigger job. I kick myself for not buying an Alaskan in .44 Mag when I worked for Ruger. I could have got it for 50% of MSRP or less and sent that off to Bowen too for the same conversion but I missed the boat on that one.

And then there's the 1911 obsession. Ed Brown Special Forces models for example.

And Dan Wessons.

And the Kimber I used to shoot in USPSA.

I don't typically like wood stocks but I have an amazing Kimber K22 .22LR rifle which is a model that hasn't been made for years. These are very collectible and this is a really nice, unfired example that I bought for $200 from Kimber when I worked for them. It's worth around $5k if typical selling prices are anything to go by. The stock is AAA French walnut and hand checkered in Costa Rica.

Dude, @mcmxi you're killing me! Lol. The two firearms I have never owned but want so badly are a nice hefty revolver and a side gate lever action. You have a very nice collection of armory!
I have to tread lightly. My motorcycle obsession is one thing. If I started a collection of firearms my wife would threaten to leave. And I'd miss her. 🤪

I love lever actions too. I have three JM stamped Marlins including an 1895 SBL in .45-70 Govt., an 1894 Cowboy in .45 Colt and a 1894 SS in .357 Mag. Wonderful rifles for sure. I'd like a lever action in .454 Casull but they're not easy to find anymore. I had two other JM stamped Marlins both in .45-70 Govt., but sold them when they were selling for a premium, along with a lot of other stuff.

Talking of bolt action rifles, I have a couple of Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.2 models, one is unfired and the other has 30 rounds through it. I grew up shooting these rifles and always wanted to own one. These were both made in England in 1955 at the Fazakerley plant near Liverpool.

My first lever action is a Winchester 94 in .375 Win. I purchased this in 1980 (I think). I put a 3x Burris pistol scope up for quick target acquisition. Shoulder the rifle with both eyes open, find your game (you can see the cross hairs as well), adjust lead/elevation, close 1 eye & squeeze. Collected the fixings for many pots of venison chili with this lever gun.

I enjoy shooting bullseye competition, mostly our Winter indoor .22 league. Not posting the scores I did 15 years ago, but still fun. Have a few guns but not as much time as I'd like to shoot them. Also love tinkering with the welding stuff, repairing and making things.

One of projects on the back burner is loading brass .410 shells for a little double barel Coach Gun I bought a while back. Had to modify a shell holder for the brass so it would fit the old Rockchucker press.

Do I understand this correctly? Motorsports, hot chicks and mud. Maybe a little beer?

Not a bad past time.
