I attempted to rub out some scratches on the hood that were there when I took delivery last Thursday. Then I waxed those areas. I also wiped excess grease from around pivot points on the loader. Aggravates me to work around a machine and get grease on my jacket from over greased fittings. Not to worry. Still plenty there to lubricant the joints. 😊 Battery operated grease guns are not always our friend.
I done the exact same thing when I took possession.. the grease.. they had enough on them to over grease the ones they missed!

Installed a front weight kit on my L2501. It was a little light up front running my 3 pt snowblower.

Since plowing out after the 40" pre-Christmas snow storm, the M has sat in its shed awaiting hard ground again and today was the day.
Scraped and bucketed out the remaining frozen mounds of snow in front of my firewood log pile so I can get back in with saw and splitter and continue cutting next years wood.
The post snow storm rainstorm caused a large amount of road and other damage due to snowmelt/rain caused flooding.
Drove down my woods road, wet in the gulleys and frozen on top and checked out my piles of gravel that I dig out of the "dry pond".
It accumulates there after being washed off the road during rain events and I harvest it when the pond dries up in the warm weather. My tax dollars at work(y)
Unfortunately, they are frozen solid so repairs will likely have to wait till spring(n)

Finally was able to sneak away from the laptop and work for a few hours today while the sun was shining and the ground was frozen.

I had flagged some dead trees that were in danger of coming down on my truck, horse trailer and travel trailer not to mention the Kubota as they are all parked on the side of the garage. Fired up my father's old Husky 50 and dropped a few of the most suspect ones. Had one not go according to plan. Looked like about 60-70' tall and I thought the top had enough weight to break through some of the misc. limbs of other trees on the way down. I was wrong. Stuck with a birds nest with it suspended in the branches of the other trees.........crap.

Took the Back blade off the 2601 and grabbed my chains......glad it wasn't too far into the woods, might need some longer chains.....pull the butt end back and dropped it safely. Bucked it up and threw them in the cart on the drawbar.......almost was too easy to skid these medium logs. Dare I say it was fun.

Snow coming again tonight, blade back on, (blower stayed on for today's antics) fueled her up and ready and waiting for slop tomorrow.

Played in the mud this morning. Cleaned out a ditch that was clogged with deadfall trees causing it to overflow from the rain yesterday and started cleaning up a massively overgrown briar/privet patch.
R14’s did very good in the muddy muck, was in 4wd and only had to lock the rear differential once. Cutting brakes also help.

Used the BX to haul the generator up to the house so we can have power. Had an ice storm last night, power went off around 1:30AM and is still off. From a look at the outage area map, it looks like we may have power back on soon. A half mile north on my road they have power, but are on a different utility company.

Used the bucket to scrape 3” of water loaded snow off my driveway yesterday before it froze up last night. We had snow that switched to rain then back to snow at the end.

Recently picked up a severely neglected 2011 RTV 900. Spent some time yesterday taking stock of everything obviously wrong with it and planned for all new fluids, filters, etc.
It is missing an ignition switch and was being hotwired from the battery. As such, none of the electric stuff works. The 12V supply wire to the key harness doesn't have power, so need to do some troubleshooting.
It has the RTV stuck in gear issue - you have to shut down to relieve the pressure to shift - heard a coast valve may also help with that so thinking of ordering 1 up.
The scraper blade has all sorts of issues with broken levers.
It needs new tires, and maybe wheels as the rears are rusted badly.
The dump box framework is rusted out underneath and I'll need to weld a new frame to attach the dump box to.
The floor in the front is largely rusted out. A new checkerplate floor looks likely.
The seat cushions are destroyed, so hopefully a local marine upholstery place can make up some new ones.

If I had to guess it was used as a snow clearing machine with a salting unit that rusted out the box, floor, and wheels. Luckily everything else is pretty good.

Made enough room in garage to store dump trailer inside. Tight fit but at least everything is in out of the weather.

Made enough room in garage to store dump trailer inside...
I guess I'm different than most... trailers and implements should sit outside in the weather (as do my truck). I never had a garage and most likely never will at my age... that is some expensive indoor real estate being used up by equipment that was designed to live outdoors! Just my opinion... (I'm not knocking you, I guess I'm more jealous!!!!)

Nice use of that lift. (y)
Yeah Flip helped me remember I had it when I had the BH problem

Worked great as I was able to push from the front into position.
