SSQA for LA346

SORRY FOR THE BOUT of DYSLEXIA my loader is a LA 364 not a 346, you cant edit the header


Started accumulating some parts for my SSQA project and since all the factory backing plates and attachments seem to have the narrow "case" holes @21"OC I'm thinking of using this spacing for mine. By using this spacing it will allow my bucket brackets to weld right onto the latch plates without a standoff and keep the pin to back of bucket distance almost stock. I think I will also section the back plate so its only as wide as I need it and not to the full 45" ssqa std.
I drew in apx where the brackets will go by using the case specs.

EBay, there store is ATV express the brand is titan 169 for the latch plates and a 100 for the 1/4" plate

I'm going to be doing the same thing to my Home build loader so that I can switch from grapple, to bucket, to snow blade.
I looked for ATV express and didn't find them?

I purchaced a full size !/4" plate that i will end up making something out of but now that ive got a better grasp on what i want to do i ordered a set of liteweight mounting pads to weld to my bucket, It should be only 15 to 20 lbs. Those latches weigh roughly 40#

Didn't see any pressing projects for the loader end of the tractor so I started on the SSQA. I had read somewhere that the factory brackets were a real "biatch" to remove but thought someone just didn't have the right approach.....wrong!
Started with cutoff wheels in the 4 1/2" then the 7" (actually could only find a 6") untill i was as deep as the bracket would let me go then a 1 3/8 hole saw all the way through to take out the plug welds and didn't loosen them at all.
Was trying to do this surgically but that method didn't work... time for the hot wrench.
From the face of the weld filet to the root had to have been 1/2". other then a couple torch gouges it ended up ok, I intended to reuse the complete u shaped bracket but the "extraction" process nixed that idea.

I have one of those metal benders like yours (the gray one about 3 feet tall or would that be 1 meter) ,what ingenious way did you come up with to anchor it down. I had mine dedicated to a spot but my twin post lift took over that space and since then its just sitting in the corner.

bucket is now converted, The way I did it its not backwards compatible with std skid steer spacing .
weight estimate 30#
Finished up the welding after dinner but was too dirty and hot to take pictures.

The paint finally dried and i mounted it yesterday afternoon!

It ended up about 60# which is a little heavier that i thought but I had to add some steel i didn't plan for. I didn't take into consideration how much the bottom part of the SSQA angles backwards so that made me have to push the mount out further from the pins than i had planned.
If I was to do it over I could save at least 15# and it would be a full width model, the only reason i was making it narrow was to keep the pins tight to the backing plate but that won't work.

What width did you end up making the mounting plate?
I'm getting ready to set mine up, but I have to make all the pieces as I go so it will take me a little longer to get it done.

Pin to pin is 21" outside the "ears" is 36" its the specs that some case skid steers used.
Make sure you allow for the bottom pad where the pins latch in ,they may not clear the underside of the loader frame when bucket is dumped. I had to push my mount out a full 2" further than I had planned.

Hi, I am doing the same ssqa setup with the same tractor. What did you mean by if you did it over you could have saved 15lbs and would be the full width model? Any other information would be appreciated before I start cutting.
