Im looking for a replacement hour meter for my rtv900. It's a 2004 has a little over 1200 hrs and the meter quit. Not sure when just realized the hours seemed to not be going up and found it to not be working. I'm looking for a used one with close to the same hours. Anyone have any ideas?? eBay has nothing. I would buy new just want to see if they can put the correct hours on it.

Hours meters are a dime a dozen.....however, the factory replacement is the one that will cost you $$$$ ifn you can find one.

I believe yours is the square model one? Would something like this work? Might need to make some mods to the dash - but this would work.

as for getting the new meter set to the old numbers......new meter plugged into a battery sitting on the bench, for o....say.....50 days straight would do it!:D:)

or just remember to add those 1200 hours!

Was looking for a factory replacement yes. That one is the same shape and should fit. Was just thinking for resale wth the hours. If I start saying to add this many hours it may scare people away.

Hobbs has been the major manufacturer of hour meters since 1938 and makes them in many different form factors.

Your tractor probably has a Hobbs unit in it..

Hopefully you can find the meter form factor, 12VDC compatible unit you need here. .. http://www.mouser.com/Honeywell/Tes...ters/_/N-5gfl?P=1z0sf9t&Keyword=hobbs&FS=True

As for setting the hours, as mentioned above, applying 12vdc to run up the hours is probably your only option.

Google images also has an extensive image collection of various Hobbs hour meters.. https://www.google.com/search?q=hob...&bih=909#hl=en&tbm=isch&q=hobbs+hour+meters&*

You may find a drop in replacement.....

Your meter quit at 1200 hours, you don't think other meters of the same vintage might suffer the same fate?
Write down the old hours or just keep the old meter and get a new one to replace it.

Now where to get one... a dealer!
The P/N is K1252-62512 $19.55

Don't assume original Kubota parts are always expensive! ;)

Good point on the price Wolfman. I gave $25 for one at the local parts store to replace the one on my Bobcat.

I wouldn't recommend any of the cheap no name meters off eBay.
The original meter on my bobcat excavator got broken, I tried the eBay approach, I tried 4 different ones (not learning my lesson the first time, let alone 3rd) and not one of them lasted over about 2 hours before complete failure. I tried different makes and types each time, none of them were any good.
Just spend the money on one from the dealer and have confidence that it'll work.
If you save the original, when you go to sell it a reasonable buyer should be understanding, things break.

I'm not saying much that hasn't been said above, but hope it's helpful, and saves you time by not bothering with the eBay crap.
