If the moderators are going to move posts around from one category to another, instead of just marking the original listing as moved, put down where it was moved to. If you have been following a post and all of a sudden it's gone because it has been moved, right now there is no way of knowing where it has gone to.

Yup. You can still click on it to get to it, then just note what category you're in.

It automatically leaves a redirect when we move them. ;)
Now if we delete them I don't think it leaves a link or note.

Beyond that there is no good way to note what we have done as there would be notes strung up all over the place! :p

It's tough to know exactly what you see or don't, because the forum looks quite different to us on our end, hundreds of deleted posts, redirects, and a lot more links and actions to click)!

Every thread we move leaves behind for 5 or more days, a link from original location to the new one. Just click it as you would have before and it automatically takes it to the threads new home. Eventually that the link expires so not to muck up the forums.

Why do we move them in the first place? Understand that one's logic seems totally illogical to someone else..... Overall as moderators the logic is "what forum on this board would a person looking for info a year from now go to in order to find the information in the thread I'm looking at.

If you "subscribe*" to a thread before it is moved I think the software will update the link in your subscription list. Not 100% sure but think so. Will have to test that out.

*subscribe- updates you when new post appear in a particular thread you've selected. To subscribe you click open the Black menu bar THREAD TOOLS selection; found above the first post in the thread, and select Subscribe. Alternatively, you can do this as well via the []Go Advance[] posting option when inputting a post. On that screen one of the selections below the input box is how you would like to subscribe to the thread (instant email, weekly email etc.)
