Hey guys! We have a base model 6040 that had a leaking hydro hard line that we needed to replace. After putting the new line on and adding fluid our three point system is slugish. Now to lift our attachment the rpms need to be at 2500. Do we have an airlock or what other steps did we miss. only have a operators manual to go of of at this time. thanks guys!

Welcome to OTT
Air in hyd system should bleed out when cycling hyd's. How long since hyd filters were changed? Does this tractor have a scv? If so is control lever in neutral position?

Which hard line did you replace, pressure or suction?
P/N of the line?

Usually sluggish hydraulics means it's sucking air, there is no bleed valve, you just operate the three point a few times to bleed it out.

Did SEVERAL M-40's last year that had sticking valves in the 3ph control valve assembly, causing exactly what you're describing. Causes an internal leak, fluid bypasses to the sump, little pressure is developed. Increasing the flow rate would build enough pressure to make the hitch work, but would barely lift a round bale on a spear. Not too bad to remove it and repair. If it's got a cab, the cab has to be lifted to get the assembly off.

Of those that I was fortunate enough to have to mess with, 100% of them had junk (TSC or whatever "kubota compatible") hydraulic fluid in them. Whether or not it was the cause is beyond me, but I found it ironic.

Strange isn't it.

Now, how is it that cheap fluid saves you money?
