L3540 HST, stalls when using foot throttle

Tractor runs good, can throttle up and down with hand throttle. As soon as you push the foot throttle you hear a click and the tractor shuts down. There is a sensor or switch on the foot throttle. I changed it because it looked like the most obvious, but it didn't help. So now I am looking for help. The seat switch only shuts the tractor off when the PTO is running, but I cut it out and wire nutted the wires just in case.

On my L4740 this is not the case. My seat will cause the tractor to shut off regardless of the PTO position.

Perhaps you can be more specific which switch you cut out and which wires were "wire nutted".

It sounds like the Operator Presence switch is faulty or needs adjusting.

My old 4701 hst and L5460 Hst will cut off if you push hst pedal and are not sitting on the seat, pto doesn’t matter. It’s so you don’t run yourself over.

I think we should clear something up, your not using a throttle pedal, your using a HST pedal, completely different than the dash throttle.

3 possible issues, Bad safety switch, Bad HST pedal sensor (very common), bad OPC (ocupancy computer) not usually an issue with that model.

I just realized there were 2 switches on the seat, so I also wire nutted the second switch. The pedal sensor was changed. If you unplug the sensor the foot throttle will rev the motor but tractor will not move. Yes the HST pedal, but it also works the throttle.

The HST pedal also advances the throttle when the tractor is in Auto throttle. Seems like I read that model has that feature? Has nothing to do with your problem though.

Sounds like you have more issues that just a simple bad switch.

You're going to need to tell us more details in what is going on and not going on with it.

Just throwing this out there... It looks like the seat switch runs through a 5 amp fuse in the main panel?

Another point to check is the pin connection for this circuit at the ECU.

Ok thanks. I did read on another forum, someone having a similar problem found a blown fuse and that fixed his problem. The fuses on mine are ok. I was hoping it could have been that easy.
