Hey guys, I have a 2011 L3240. I went to mow this weekend and the PTO will not engage. press the button, the light on the dash shows it engaged, if you stand up the tractor shuts off, but the pto shaft isn't spinning. Any suggestions? I see where some of the L3240's are cable operated. Just trying to chase this one down. It doesnt have the pto lever like the older ones do. It has the twist lock button.

Second check for a disconnected or damaged wire to the PTO Valve, it's on the right hand side of the mid case.

Welcome to the OTT forum Long. You came to the right place to get answers.

At least you know the safety side thinks it is working so like Wolfman suggested, it is probably something with the wiring.

Safely verify power to the solenoid located on side as Wolfman suggested. If power to the solenoid, check solenoid coil resistance.

It sounds like the rotary PTO switch is functioning since it is signaling the dash icon, but I'm fairly certain the computer commands power to the PTO solenoid. Meaning, just because the switch function works doesn't mean power is getting to the solenoid.

Hopefully the wire (Pink/Blue) just came off the solenoid and it is an easy repair.

Hope the photos are helpful.

Report back what you find.

Well I finally got the opportunity to check out the problem and you guys are dead on! I pulled the wire to the pto solenoid out when I was moving some dirt around the barn. I put a wire connector on the end of the wire and plugged it up and we are mowing again. I'll be dropping by the dealer to get a new connector next week. You guys are great! Many thanks!
