I had lowered the throttle to idle so I could get a drink but the machine just died and wont start up again.

When I checked the water separator. It was full of gunk. A lot more than what's in this pic.

I don't have any extras, So I cleaned it and the lines to and from the best I could with carb cleaner.

Fuel is making to this shutoff(?) valve. But I don't know how to check the system beyond that.

When my BX ran out of fuel and I had to prime the injectors. It wasn't a nightmare like this looks.

How the hell do you get to these?

It seems like now would be a good time to change the cartridge filter in the sep.

According to this diagram there is a bleed screw next to the valve you mentioned. Perhaps you could get fuel to that point and go from there. You may not have to open the injectors at all.

thanks, didn't even realize that one was there. Pretty sure my BX has on there too.

good flow, but still no start

Also to note, is I did take out the stop solenoid and tried starting it without luck

The stop solenoid, is a run solenoid, it must be working for it to start so removing it does quite the opposite.

Open the jet start valve, remove the vent line off the valve and crank the engine and see if you get clean pulses of fuel out of the vent port.

If you’re getting fuel, I’d move on to checking over all of the safety switches on the unit, to ensure they aren’t preventing a start. Seems like you’ve diagnosed this to be a fuel issue, but it’s worth checking if the issue persists.

HST pedal, under seat switch, and I believe the PTO all have safety devices that could prevent the tractor from running if they are in the wrong position/not working.

Different engine, different system.
Kubota uses both the run solenoid and the stop solenoid.

If you sucked junk into the fuel injection pump or beyond, it's going to take a serious cleaning to get it out.
It probably won't start or run properly till that is done.

You normally do not have to crack the lines on the newer injectors.
You're injectors are a completely new design, so I know nothing about them.

You could try bleeding the lines to the injectors.

Well, I'm committed now

IMG_0139.JPG

I had to remove the overflow piping to loosen the injectors. Put those back together. Hooked up the fuel tank and cranked it. I definitely have flow to the injector pump bleeder screw, but nothing comes out the injectors themselves.
Do I pull the injector pump and clean it?

This is not my tractor and I don't have a WSM.

If you're getting no fuel out of the Injection pump on any clyinders it's probably not the pump.
Have you confirmed the stop solenoid was reinstalled properly and that it's working?

I'm going to 100% recommend you not go any further into any of the injection pump.
It's not simple to clean the injection pump, in fact you can do more damage than good.
And the WSM is not going to help you with cleaning the injection pump either, Kubota recomends sending it to a professional to clean / repair / rebuild it.
They offer no insight to the insides.

That would be a relief.

I believe its installed properly. post in the middle and two nuts. Is there a special way. direction or something?
As far as working. Is it what makes the click sound when you turn the key?

I did also check all the fuses, and jumped the seat switch.

This sounds like it may be expensive. can I at least take the pump out to bring it somewhere rather than haul the tractor there if needed?

Looking through this. When you cleaned the fuel lines to and from the water separator was there junk in the line leaving the filter/ separator going to the injection pump?
Was the factory fuel filter in place?

It did seem the gunk was past the separator. I also have not seen any fuel filter. My BX has 2. This one has none other than the separator.

Looking at the parts diagram it should have only one. It’s a water separator with a filter inside. I’m having trouble posting a picture of it.
Just seen where you had fuel flow coming out of the vent. So that would rule out the fuel filter being stopped up. But would also verify that it has a filter in place.

FYI: I was wrong on the solenoid, it is a run solenoid but removing will also allow it to run.
I looked at the WSM to quick, and botched it. 🥺 :censored:

"IMPORTANT
• Before removing the injection pump assembly
(2), be sure to remove the stop solenoid (4), hi-
idling body (1), engine stop lever (3) and stop
solenoid guide (6)."

Did all this and got it free but it still won't come out.
Feels like something under it is holding it.
