I had lowered the throttle to idle so I could get a drink but the machine just died and wont start up again.

When I checked the water separator. It was full of gunk. A lot more than what's in this pic.

I don't have any extras, So I cleaned it and the lines to and from the best I could with carb cleaner.

Fuel is making to this shutoff(?) valve. But I don't know how to check the system beyond that.

When my BX ran out of fuel and I had to prime the injectors. It wasn't a nightmare like this looks.

How the hell do you get to these?

It seems like now would be a good time to change the cartridge filter in the sep.

According to this diagram there is a bleed screw next to the valve you mentioned. Perhaps you could get fuel to that point and go from there. You may not have to open the injectors at all.
