Kubota QH15 attachments pop off

It's a bit of a mess really. I have both the QH10 and QH15 which have CAT1 inputs but different outputs! Here's a table I just made that might help some folks.

Both the MX and M have CAT2 top links and lift arms which means that the holes in the heim joints are 1" for the top link and 1-1/8" for the lift arms. So I have to use bushings for both tractors to reduce 1" to 3/4" for the top link, and 1-1/8" to 7/8" for the lift arms.

What's messed up is the lack of standardization in this industry. The RCR1884 for example has a 1-1/4" top pin which works with both top hooks on either the QH10 or QH15. It has CAT1/CAT2 lower pins that are the 7/8" and 1-1/8" combination type. So I can run the RCR1884 on the QH10 without bushings, but have to use 1-7/16" to 1-1/8" reducing bushings in order to run the cutter on the QH15. So the QH15 is a CAT1 to CAT3 quick hitch. Clear as mud right?!!!

Yup and thats why I keep a ton of bushings around. So far so good.

Yep. It attaches to a Cat1 tractor, but the hooks are Cat3. Ran into the same issue on my LX. Tractor supply and a grinder are your friends.

Yep. Not sure why MANY of the quick hitches say Cat 1 but they are really Cat 2 since the lowers are larger? It makes no sense to me why you'd want to buy bushings for all the implements in order for them to fit better.

Here is a pic of mine (Speeco E Hitch) that's "economy hitch" with a rear blade off of an old 8N. Note the 7/8" pins of the rear blade fit pretty well in the quick hitch.

Funny, I had to modify my speeco to make it wider to fit all of my implements. I'm suspecting that some implement manufacturers are saving money by making their 3PH dimensions to the nominal spec.

Jeez, those are expensive for what they are. I buy cheap Kubota bushings and modify them as necessary.

The M6060 came with a pair of 7/8" (CAT1) to 1-7/16" (CAT3) bushings that are 1-1/4" long. I cut up a Kubota CAT1 to CAT2 bushing (about $2 at the local dealer) to use as a spacer to make the CAT3 bushing 1-3/4" long. I did that so that the QH15 would play nice with the Land Pride RCR1884 pins.

Cat 1 quick hitches are based not on pin size, but on pin spacing, side to side and vertically. There are 3 common categories and the spacing is different for each, becoming wider and taller as you go up. Not sure why the quick hitches commonly need bushings but the majority of them are made that way. A few bucks for some bushings is no big deal IMHO.

I did a little 'surfing' and it appears that 'most(all ?) quick hitches' while CAT1 on the tractor side, are CAT3 on the implement side, though this isn't stated in the website info or literature. One ,Worksaver, DOES show included adapters on it's webpage ! While you won't 'empty the bank' buying several adapter kits for EVERY implement it reminds me of the 'batteries not included in toys'. In this case you've bought an expensive piece of equipment,supposed to make farming easier ,and no..first thing is another trip to town to buy adapters
I'll assume they're all CAT3 'hooks' (implement side ,as it's far cheaper to make 1 size, not 3,increases the profits.
Fortunately I'll never need a quick hitch. Since my big tractors are al Snap-Couple , ANY implement connects to ANY tractor, AND no readjustments necessary.

If your lift pins stick out far enough to put keepers in the end holes, you can just buy cat 1/2 bushings and use the keepers to keep them in place. LOTS cheaper at $4 vs. those lock-on $38 ones pictured above.

My QH is Cat 3. So, I use Cat 1/2 and Cat 2/3 bushings with keeper pins in the end holes. Only one this doesn't work on is my RB.

I do use the $38 bushings BAP linked for my box blade. The BB needed some mods to work with a QH, as it was narrow. Those bushings helped stretch the lower pins a little.

I don't bother with bushings for other implements that aren't ground engaging, like carry-all.

Yep before I knew better I paid the $30+, then for my BB after reading on here I ended up getting the less expensive sleeves and keepers to hold in place. Big savings!

Can get the cat 1/2 and 2/3 bushings at TSC. The keepers on the end are the same as what you'd use for no QH.

I suspect many of the quick hitch adapters are sized by the widths, not the pin diameters.

We had old ih tractors on the farm, few of them had the fast hitch. What a sweet way to hook up to an implement. I assume the snap-couple was about the same.

Tractor supply has these bushings in stock very cheap. If there’s one nearby, just go get what you need. They also have cat 1 to cat 2 pins. My tractor has a cat 2 hitch. I just bought the cat 1 to cat 2 pins for my ripper plow and now I don’t mess with bushings on the implement.
