Kubota D1105 Injection pump cracked

I'm at a loss here. I've completely rebuilt Kubota D1105 engine and have since cracked the injection pump twice...yes that's right 2 injection pumps completely destroyed! Anyone know what could be causing this???

Ummm where did you get that pump?
And I have no clue how that's even possible?
Best guesses:
Wrong pump?
Water collecting in pump and freezing?
Pump hitting fuel cam?

D1105's might have been produced in DI and IDI and using the wrong pump could be the issue.

Did you have the block machined? My guess is the pump is bottoming out. Do you have the oem shim stack? The blocks are shimmed based on machining. You add shims when you get the surface decked.

The new block and the old shims are not the correct combination. How did you know your timing was correct?

You could have no shims on the pump and it shouldn't do this. I would think it would break at the flange first where it's mounted. That is some force to bust it there.
Did it start or just rotating to prime?
Dose it go in easily to the flange?

I'm still leaning towards wrong pump.

A few shims here or there should not damage the pump, ever.

Give me the model / serial number off of the block.
And do you have a listing where you got the pump?

pump # (1603251010) based off my model # on the top valve cover (from old block). Maybe this block is a newer block, not sure if they ever even changed the design or whatever? The original pump is a real kubota part the other is a remanded replacement with same part # in description. Both cracked and it was NOT from h20 in fuel ect.

It started and ran, but at above 60-70% power it started its self destruction/detonation! I'm not to firmilar how "easy" it supposed to go in as, at least one lobe of the cam gear has to touch one of the rollers id think...it didn't just fall into place, there was pressure and I assume there had to be some as a lobe would/should make contact right?

When I assembled all gearing matched up as stated in workshop manual. I know the timing is controlled by the shims ect and didn't put to much thought into checking it with the workshop book as I figured the same shim should give the same timing. Also in the workshop manual it states when replacing use same shims (see pic) Later in the manual it talks about the timing (see pic). Regardless, I feel tho shims/timing shouldn't split 2 pumps in half...but idk that's why I'm here!

The engine model / serial number will be stamped into the block on the flat facing up right outside of the injection pump mounting location.

Give me a picture of the (bottom) roller side of the pump.
Both of them if you still have them.
