It would really help if you include the model you are having an issues with as they all have different shifter setups. ;)

My tractor has two high low shifters what is the difference ? It is stuck in low gears creeper gears and I can't for the life of me figure out why .
from the handle it looks like it is in HIGH range......

you are looking at the gears as there are numbered? will the lever on the left move at all?

Your best bet is to dive into the creeper section and find out what you can see.
Normally I would tell you to get the WSM but in this case I don't think you'll find anything out there on it.

That's what I'm thinking .... If there's no parts To be found when I do tear into it I'll be parting this thing out

then again - you might find a fork that is bent or out of alignment, Vic might be able to dig up a part if you get that lucky!:)

Drive some backward slowly (not an issue there lol) to change the angle of bind/pressures on much of the gears. Then see if they will change. You can even try to nudge them toward Neutral while rolling backward?

This is an old 4wheeler's trick. The lower the gear toward creep the higher the probability was we had to do this to get things unloaded to allow again for normal shifting back into a higher range. Granted though the levers were not in different position than the gear one was actually in though.

If it's 4x try kicking it out of of 4x.
It might also be something a simple as shifting into 4-3-2-1, and then shifting into low range and back into high range.
I ran into a similar issue on a borrowed piece of equipment where the gear range could not be changed unless in trans was in 1st ear. I had to do with the way the gear cluster slid on the shaft and only in one position would the range gear move.
At this point, on yours, especially if force was used to try to change range the shift fork can be out of place.

I haven't really had to put force on it but I will try all of the mentioned ideas and if nothing works I'll pull shifter assemblies out and inspect . Haven't started it in a year so could be interesting .
