A buddy at church is selling his L2550 4wd with R1tires, 1000 hrs, FEL & backhoe & 5 foot Bushhog, pricing around $8000.

I use my 1994 B7100 (no FEL, has R1 tires and just had injectors and GPs replaced, has 1000 hrs) to do about everything I can convince it to do or rig it to do in some way. Ive been waiting for an opportunity to come along worth selling my B7100 for and buying - this seems to be the deal.

Anything I should look out for on the L2550?

This move seems like a logical next Kubota step. I need more tractor and this L2550 has what seems what I need. I need R1 grip, FEL, more HP (B7100 has 16hp), more weight for better ground grip - moving manure (i live on a farm) and ability to haul out firewood. FEL I can mount a spike on to stack round bales. Backhoe I dont really need but its oart of the deal.

You were doing good until you said spear for round bales, that model does not have enough backside to lift round bales. ;)

Pictures. Body shows 30 years of use - plenty of dents and faded paint. Some surface rust. Front loader is a Kubota BF400G - bucket had some hard use. Tractor has 897 hours on the working hour meter. So - 30 years old and 897 hours. Tractor was built late in 1987 based on the serial number. Maintained, no leaks, no smoke, starts right up. Includes a Woods Groundbreaker 7500 under frame mount backhoe and an old Kubota 5’ bushhog. Front R1 tires were switched out for generic “car” tires for less impact to ground when mowing properties (owner said the front R1 tires tore up the ground so he switched out to the tures now on it). Rear tires are R1 and in very good shape - they look new. He is asking $7500 for all. Is it worth it?

Looks like your buddy put his tractor through the paces. The loader bucket has a nice smile! It can be straightened, but it's up to you if you want a project.

The front tires replaced with "car" tires has an effect on the ratio to the rear tires and not good for the mechanical parts when the ratio is wrong. Undoubtly the ratio is wrong.

The dings and dents expose how the owner treated the machine. No telling how the backhoe is, or what damage it has caused to the tractor.

Price acceptance is based on your ability to repair problems and your needs for this particular machine with options. Knowing you'll need to replace all fluid and service it, replace front tires, straighten bucket ...

Might want to have the hoe on the machine and use it for a weekend with the premise, "If it's what you (seller) says it is, I agree to this price." Then what doesn't suit you, you have the option of negotiating on the dollar amount, or returning it with no obligation.

As NIW said, placing a hay bale on the front is not going to work well.......however the possibility of placing on the rear if you take off the hoe is a better thought. Your max weight there is close to 2,000 lbs.......and you best have a good something IN the FEL when doing it!;):)

what price you looking to sell you B7100?:D

85Hokie, you missed the last meeting so realize further purchases will hinder further attendance.
