Grapple not working

The Tilt works fine both ways with any attachment no problem.
I worded it wrong it tilts both directions but the open close of the grapple itself only operates in one direction (sorry )

When the grapple is on it tilts front back no problem. When I push the third function button and try and operate the grapple it only goes in one direction. As soon as I let button up ut tilts no problems. It's something in the third function not sure what part is causing it. I have 2 grapples and it does the same on both.

Think I need more info on the valve in this picture, how many lines are going to or coming from it?
Is it 4 or 6?

Ok lets clear up one thing, you don't have a third function or 3rd function.
You have a diverter valve.
I only point this out because there is a difference in how they work.
A third function does not steal from the loader spool (valve) it just adds another spool.

With a diverter valve that you have, it diverts your roll function to become a grapple function.
Sorry not trying to muddy the water, just want to clarify things for you and others.

Lets get back to figuring out what's wrong.
Go to your hose ends on the tractor side and remove both Quick disconnect off the hoses.
Take a clean 5 gallon bucket and drill a couple 1/4 holes up near the top lip so you can zip tie the hoses point down into the bucket.
Start it, engage the diverter valve and gently move the stick in either direction.
In one direction you will get flow out of one hose and none on the other, and in the other direction you will get the opposite flow.
If that happens go buy a 2 new couplings, I would suggest getting both sides and on both grapples.

If you don't get flow out of one hose you have a valve or solenoid issue.

When you press the button BOTH solenoids should click. If only one clicks the solenoid is not functioning for some reason. If they both click try giving the diverter a solid rap. If the spool is stuck that might be enough to free it. If none of that works my next step would be to disconnect the female couplers on both grapple hoses and see if you get flow out of both of them. If not the diverter is not working.

Just to be clear - that does not mean both spools are being shifted. You need to verify that element of the operation by disconnecting the hoses and checking for flow.

Hi all thanks everyone
It's the Quick-Disconnect fittings. It took them off at the tractor put in a bucket both side worked perfectly.

Is there a chance anyone has guythe part numbers etc for new fittings adapters o rings all the goodies
Everything on the tractor for the diverter is newer so I don't want to get the same stuff ut obviously doesn't work.

I'll have to change 2 grapples and the tractor Quick-Disconnect fittings.

If you are replacing everything you don't need part numbers. There are three basic types of couplers used.

The ISO 5675 coupler is the "standard" for agricultural hydraulics and readily available at most tractor supply houses. Usually cheaper to buy them online. For this application a 3/8" body size coupler is more than adequate.

From the factory the LA525 loader uses 3/8" Faster HNV couplers which conform to the ISO 7241 B standard. These couplers will not interchange with 3/8" ISO 5675 couplers. Faster brand couplers are a lot harder to find but you can readily buy other brands of ISO 7241 B couplers online. If it were my machine I would opt for this style coupler just to keep everything on the loader matched.

If you want the Faster couplers here is an online source. Faster has had availability issues so some/many of those choices may not be in stock and/or available from the Faster warehouse.

Right now it's got -6an to 1/4 Adapter on the hose with 1/4 Quick-Disconnect Coupling think that might be the problem?

I ordered -6an to 3/8 npt Adapter and 3/8 Couplings enough to change everything on both grapples and and the tractor

Coupler size is not your problem but those should work fine.

Just for my own piece of mind if it's not the size of the couplers. The current couplers just failed because they are cheap or just something that happens ?

I have no idea. People seem to have way more issues with couplers than I do. They are pretty simple devices.

Thanks to everyone It's working fine new quick connects everything sealed up grapple operating perfectly.

But I've got the same problem I had before the grapple stopped. I can't disconnect the Quick-Disconnects the only way I've been able to do it is to release the pressure by loosing the line on the cylinder with a wrench. No matter the position of the grapple if it's open or closed or up or down .
No matter the position of the joy stick and button. Won't release then after I do release pressure with wrench it comes apart but theres still pressure on the pins in and on the connectors. I have to push pins in to release all the pressure to connect it back together.

Is there's a release or something I'm missing?

The disconnects should function fine when the implement is on the ground, tractor engine is off, loader valve is moved in every direction to release pressure a couple of times.

Make certain to press the diverter button once the tractor is off and move the loader in all directions while depressed. If the solenoids don't "click" with the tractor turned off, the diverter valve is wired to the switched side of the tractor instead of the un-switched side. If that is the case, turn off the tractor and then turn it back on without starting it. Then depress the diverter valve button and operator the loader valve to remove the pressure.

Again thanks all. It ended up being you have to release the pressure with KEY ON but not running push button move joystick left to right pressure gone quick connect work fine...
