A SOB cow turned the hose bib on, ran full blast for like 20 hours. I just happened to go to back to swap batteries at my diesel tank and noticed water flowing on the road. Anyways I came back a few hours later to put a tie wrap on the handle, and one the SOB's turned it back on about half way. Water had made it over 500ft away from the well.

2nd time I returned, hose bib turned partially on.

I have a hydrant with a handle/lever you pull up to turn on and push down to shut off. I've had cows turn that thing on! I eventually took a piece of wire (12 ga. with insulation left on) and made a "lock" that has been working for several years now. The wire is bent to fit in the hole at the bottom of the handle and then wraps around and onto the faucet end.

I have one cow, she will mouth anything I touch, I'm guessing she smells me and wants to taste it. I hope I don't look a brisket to her.
