I'm really hoping we get some rain in the near future, or all these seedlings are gonna dry up.The rye grass has started to germinate on the 4 acres that I planted last Monday.
yeah I saw the weather channel taking about that area, just hope you don't get that 4in of icing that's possible in some areas.Well, we're under a storm watch. Saying thunder snow, 3-6" here and much more further north. Tfhat guy from the weather channel is in KC, so they must think something worth reporting is going to happen.
I put out 4 round bales two days ago, one in the lean to so they could stand in there and eat during a blizzard. I didn't put any panels up to block them until the snow, so they started eating that one first!!!!
OF COURSE, COWS ARE TURDS.
I checked the automatic waterer and the pump at the well, all is working. Ready for what ever happens.
Ouch!!!
Not in this one, about 8" total for us. 15miles south of here got over 60", it's just how the wind blows.Ouch!!!
I'm betting that's pretty cold for you folks!
Hoping nighttime lows don't cause any freeze-ups for you.
Jim Cantore of Weather Channel was stationed in Kansas City this morning, so near @D2Cat. Were looking at 12+ " of snow there, depending on how much sleet or freezing rain came.
I'll take 18" of snow over 0.25" of freezing rain ice any day.
Hoping D2Cat is okay in his neighborhood.
Not related to this storm, but @Tughill Tom has seen upwards of 3 feet + in parts of his territory due to Lake Effect from Lake Ontario.
Thoughts and Prayers.
Wow - - - having grown up just south of Syracuse I can appreciate Lake Effect but never been in the midst of it like you folks. Not in this one, about 8" total for us. 15miles south of here got over 60", it's just how the wind blows.
Oh, and I put the blower on the B3200 so turned it south. Works every time but my snowmobile pals are Pissed. LOL
Oh, there here. I heard them all night. We're grooming hard for the last month here, not so much for the folks south of us.Wow - - - having grown up just south of Syracuse I can appreciate Lake Effect but never been in the midst of it like you folks.
Your neighbors got 5 FEET?!??!?
My wife showed me some posts by TugHill Snowmobile Clubs on Facebook with a bunch of grooming.
We got enough to cover the grass......I'm okay with that.
I'll bet net week I'll see a bunch of pickups hauling snowmobile trailers heading North up Route 12.......
Ever watch any Jacques Cousteau explorer shows? He has explored all over world and some of coldest regions on earth. He once said there no place colder on earth than leaving the Houston Astrodome ("Eighth Wonder of the World" in 1965) when a blue northern blows in. The humidity, the wind chills will make the bones in your body ice cold.Ouch!!!
