Hi all,

I would like to get some chain to lift things, (stumps, posts, odds and ends).

I’ve seen chains attached to the bucket where the bucket can be rolled or lifted, both actions lifting the load up for loading into, (or out of), a low trailer, to reposition, dump, etc.

How are others attaching the chain (or straps) to the bucket? Are you adding rings, one to each side of the bucket? What hardware are you using? Links to bits and parts always helpful.

Gary, you can get hooks to weld on the bucket or bolt on, your choice. If you had a new bucket you'd probably want bolt on so you wouldn't mess up your pretty paint!

Might try a search on this forum for "weld on bucket hooks". I think you need to come up with three or more words for the search to work.

As Hokie says 3 places for hooks are the way to go whether it be bolt on or welded in place.

rkidd, where did you find the center hook (with snap) on your bucket? I like the looks of that! I am considering welding some hooks on a brand new bucket..Do any of you guys know if touch up paint will blend? It is a loader bucket after all, and does not need to be a show piece. Can you guys explain the reasoning for 3 hooks? just more is better, or is there a rigging technique here?

I live in NE Ohio and was a heavy equipment operator and all of our equipment had excavator type hooks on them. They are handy as you can use chains, slings, cables, or chains. I went to Cleveland and there is Samsel supply company that sells all of this type of stuff and bought mine. I then welded that on and the other 2 weldable hooks on. Might check with Kens bolt on hooks on this site also. I was new to this site when I did mine and didnt know about Kens. You can also find them online under excavator hooks. And yes the Kubota touch up paint matches perfectly as you can see in my picture. That is what I used in the spray can. And yes the reason for 3 hooks is for being able to rig things that are long or unbalanced. I have a pair of 5/16" grade 43 chains that are 6 ft long to move or unload implements or whatever. Plus a 12 ft 3/8in chain if needed.

Well... not quite perfect.

Selected the correct parts, shipping, and entered credit card info...but sale won't go through. It wants me to open a PayPal account which I don't need or want. Thought there would be a work around that, the site says it will take credit cards but apparently no, or I can't figure it out.

Bummer.

Who else sells these? Anyone know?

Hey RKidd. Hello from Columbus (Ostrander actually). Retired here too and having fun with my new-old (19 years) B7300.

Kicked the Wrangler out of the garage and have the heat on to make a comfortable work area for fiddling around with the tractor.

You must be getting lake effect snow about now. We're caught in extremely slippery conditions. We got freezing rain through the night and now it's drizzling on top of the ice. I can't stand still on the ice without falling.

Not good for a old coot.

Gary,
Sorry you had some issues with the PayPal site, but I see it's all good now, thanks for the order.

FYI to others: We sell a very high quality "excavator hook" on the Weld-On page of the website.

Have been busy plowing snow with the B2650. Have had over 18" over the last several days. Same here with rain today turning to freezing rain a little later. We do have to be careful on the ice as we dont bounce very well any more!! I enjoy tinkering in my shop as well. Fabbing and welding up a new tool box for my chains that will mount on the loader frame now.

Yup Thanks Ken. You shipped those quickly, thank you for that. Got the garage all warmed up so I'll be installing them as soon as they get here.

Sorry about the paypal confusion and thanks again for the quick service.
