Could I swap a Detroit 1-71 into my Kubota B7510? It would make around 30-40 hp, but since the tractor is designed for a 15-20 hp engine, would a more powerful one break anything?
No, it definitely wouldn't be a bolt-in job. Thanks for the information on the frame. With enough money and time, anything is possible. But I doubt very much that it would be a straight bolt-in.
I don't think the B7510 has an external frame, so the engine is a stressed structural member. The thing you break could be the new engine unless you fabricate some sort of sub-frame to carry the loads.
Have fun and take pictures. Lots of pictures. We must have pictures!!!
A 1-71 is closer to 25 hp than 40, I think. I can't imagine giving up a 61 cu in 3 cyl for 71 cu in 2 stroke! Gotta feeling sheet metal would have to go.The 7510 is the exact same as its 26hp (7610) the hydro will be just fine I would think.
Yeah I wouldn't for a second.A 1-71 is closer to 25 hp than 40, I think. I can't imagine giving up a 61 cu in 3 cyl for 71 cu in 2 stroke! Gotta feeling sheet metal would have to go.
Yeah. Hiighlights include:After reading that article I'm going to assume he does not have a 1-71 Detroit.
