I would suspect from the description that it raises or lowers the deflector on top of a snowblower chute by means of a linear actuator.

Do you have any further info or photos?

I’m certain you can find the cost on Messicks website.

Yeah I bought a used Kubota 51" blower for my 2650 tractor. The blower has hydraulic rotate but does not have the electric chute adjustment. I want to ad one. Looks like the Kubota part runs around $580 which seems really high for what it is. Wondering if anyone has installed a generic part to substitute for the Kubota part.

You can pick up a linear actuator on E-Bay or Amazon for probably around $50, maybe less. I bought mine a few years ago, so I don't know current pricing.

Then you just need a switch and some wire to make it work. A heavy duty double pole double throw, monetary contact, center off is all you need. The actuator will probably come with mounting brackets, which will most likely work if you take the time to find the right placement. I think my actuator has about 8" of travel, but you don't need that much, 4" is more like it. Look for an actuator with built in adjustable limit switches.

I found the same: I started with an 8" actuator but swapped it out for a 4" because the first one was too slow.
