i bought an old onan generator that has sat for many years, it only has 140hrs on it but the injection pump was all gummed up and the fuel rack stuck...
its all clean and free now but can anyone tell me where to position the rack and also plunger position before i slide them back in.... i would suspect the procedure and alignment is the same for all 3 cylinder kubota's

WOW,
i could not have done it without you, great pictures and text. any idea of the eccentric pin can be purchased separetely as one of mine is broken, that would explain why the engine smoked up the shop in a few seconds when i fired it up before taking the pump appart as on cylinder was getting max fuel or more because the plunger was out of line......! the electric fuel pump was all gummed and not working from sitting for years so the previous owner took the injectors and injection pump appart trying to fix the problem... was clueless as to what he was doing...
anyways, hopefully i can get a new pin... worst case scenario i'll have to find a used or new plunger body.
thanks again...

You guys are responding to an 8 year old thread. The best way to get answers, especially up to date answers, is to start a new thread.

Yes but that pdf might be really handy. Could move the link to a new thread.

I realize this is an old thread, but what size generator would this D650 be powering? I***8217;d love to find one this size.

They powered old Kubota Lowboy generators, somewhere in the 4500W range if I remember right, they were also in RV gensets of the same era and wattage.

You can still find them for sale out there, but a newer genset is much better, because the hard starting of the x50 series engines, and the low tech generator heads that they used.
